Cocker Spaniel grooming is an important part of your weekly routine. Because those long curls can quickly get in a tangle.

The Cocker Spaniel is known for his gorgeous long, silky hair, which can grow to floor length.
But that beautiful coat isn’t the easiest to manage.

My boxes contain everything you need to groom your dog at home keeping it healthy, shiny and tangle free.

My top tips.

* Bath them once a month with shampoo and condition the ears, feathers and skirt.
* Check the ears and rear for any mats and gently teasing out using your fingers.
* Use a Dematting spray on the ears and furnishing to keep them tangle free for longer.
* Use a slicker brush to go over the whole dog. The slicker brush will get rid of any loose hair.
* Go over the dog again with a mental comb working from his head across his whole body and finally down his legs.
* Finish the job with some beautiful Pawfume.
* Pay particular attention to your Cocker Spaniel’s ears.
* For professional styling I recommend every 8 weeks if clipped and every 12 weeks if handstripped.

I love to groom this dog in the salon, removing the dead undercoat and giving them a crisp outline to their coat.

These dogs do need quite a lot of coat care, but it is not as hard as you think if you have the right tools.

Here’s my tips when grooming your golden retriever.

🐾 Brush them head to toe every alternative day

🐾 Use a good quality shampoo to keep their coat healthy and shiny.

🐾 Depending how much they like the dirt/mud, I’d recommend bathing every 3/4 weeks.

🐾 Visit a professional groomer at least once a quarter as the blaster is amazing to remove that dead undercoat and they can also remove the excessive hair from their pads and cut their nails safely.

🐾 Use a good detangle spray around their read, belly, chest and ears to avoid tangles and matts.

🐾 Wipe their eyes and clean their ears with pet wipes regularly

🐾 The best tools to use to remove that dead undercoat at home and keep on top of tangles and matts is a slicker brush, undercoat rake, rubber brush, deshedding tool (furminator).

1-2 times a week for 10-20 minutes each session.

The soft slicker brush for dogs with medium-firm angled stainless steel angled pins on both sides. The soft flex feature reduces stress on hands and wrists and reduces the risk of brush burn on the pet. Puppy bath time should be fun! But it’s something that new puppy parents often worries about.

I’ve created a box which contains everything you need to bathe your puppy.

You can bathe your puppy from 8 weeks and unless they are covered in mud you should only bath once a month using a gentle shampoo.

It’s a good thing for all puppies to get used to happy bath times from an early age.

My puppy bathing box contain:

Let’s talk ➡️ SCHNAUZERS

Schnauzers come in three types; Miniature, Standard and Giant. The most common type I see in the salon is the Miniture.

Schnauzers are highly intelligent, excellent family companions and they are very unique and striking in their appearance. They stand beautiful, just like handsome Monty here 💙 I love them 😍

Schnauzer’s have a wiry, hard and dense outer coat is wiry, hard, and dense, and beneath that is a soft undercoat. Officially they should be hand stripped, but for the majority of pets they are clipped which still gives an outstanding finish.

Monty’s pawrent opted for a pet trim to make it nice and easy to manage.

I do find that once the coat has been clipped it can turn quite fluffy and if long it on the skirt, legs and muzzle it will get very matted if not properly groomed both at home and professionally.

To groom at home you need a slicker brush and a metal comb. Detangle spray, a good shampoo and conditioner are a must. These are included in my luxury grooming boxes.
