What a lovely end to the week
⭐️ star table
⭐️ caught sparkling with Miss Purdy
⭐️ Mathletics superstars
According to Statista, 69% of children currently engage in competitive sport, either in or out of school ⚽🏀 Thanks to the Euros, it’s very possible that percentage will see an uptick in the coming weeks. Enjoying sport and revelling in healthy competition can have a fantastic impact on children’s development – but when presented with the idea of winning side 👑 emotions can sometimes run high, and feelings can be hurt 💔
A healthy approach to any kind of game or contest – not just the sporting variety – is an important quality to teach to children and young people; and our guide can help you to do that. Our list of expert tips explains how to emphasise the value of playing fair and dealing with both victory and defeat in a reasonable, mature manner.

Such a wonderful day as always at Glendale Countryside show. So much to see and learn from sheep shows, falconry and combine harvesters to honey bees, food tasting and sheep shearing. The children from Year 1-4 had a blast!
A special thanks to Simpsons Malt Limited - the Maltesers UK are always a big hit

Lovely local village news about one of our amazing team 🥰
Betsy's mum got in touch to tell us about her daughter's experience of attending Rainbows. Betsy has not only collected an impressive number of badges, but also developed in so many other ways. All the result of the Girlguiding unit being run in a truly inclusive way.

We'd love your pre-loved uniform!
If during the school holidays you've had a clear out of uniform that no longer fits your child/ren, we would love it if you would consider donating it.
Some of our staff will then spend their own time to launder and make minor repairs to the items, which will then be used to support students and families that may benefit from pre-loved uniform.
There are donation points for uniform in school reception, at Hadston House and Widdrington Community Centre.
Thank you for your kindness!

What Parents and Educators Need to Know about Pop-Up Ads
A study from the University of Michigan reviewed 135 different apps aimed at children 📱and found that 100% of free apps and 88% of paid apps (many of which were labelled 'educational'), included pop-up advertisements 👀 With some pop-ups being associated with deceptive marketing and potential scams, it can be concerning to see just how prevalent these online features are.
Despite the risks pop-up advertising poses to people online – especially children – there is plenty you can do to minimise the threat 🛡️ This week’s guide explains the safety concerns of pop-ups in detail and lets you know how to help children and young people enjoy their time online, without worrying about being taken in by such marketing.
What an action packed day KS2 have had at Dukeshouse Wood Centre for their activity day today. The intermittent rain didn’t dampen their spirits and they enjoyed fencing, zip line, climbing and an obstacle challenge.

What Parents and Carers Need to Know about Disney+
More than 150 million subscribers worldwide 📈 Disney+ has enjoyed a steady rise in popularity since launching four years ago: the platform’s deep library of treasured old-school animated favourites, modern classics and original series means that it can offer a rich seam of engrossing content that caters for young and not-so-young users alike 📺
Of course, a consequence of this approach is the presence of the sort of age-inappropriate material one might not expect to find on the platform, given Disney’s fabled status as a purveyor of family entertainment. There’s useful advice in avoiding this pitfall (and more besides) in this week’s guide, as Disney+ comes under the microscope.
Don’t forget all your cake and bake donations for the Christmas fair at 2pm tomorrow. Thankyou
