The Pegasus Centre at Tranwell
The Pegasus Centre is a BHS Approved Riding Centre and livery yard, purpose-built to meet the needs
The Pegasus Centre is a riding centre based at Tranwell, near Morpeth in Northumberland. The centre is a partnership between Riding for the Disabled Association, Northumberland County Council and Active Northumberland (who manage the facility). We have an indoor riding arena, two outdoor arenas and 75 acres of paddock and moorland.
It is with great sadness that we have the news that the Pegasus has now closed as a riding school. Morpeth RDA Group has now moved to Kirkley Hall College with their disabled group of riders. We at Active Northumberland would like to wish them all the very best of luck and to everyone who has supported us over the years I would like to thank you very much and wish you well going forward. I will miss you all
Dawn
As some of you may be aware there are some changes happening with Morpeth RDA and the centre, we will be getting in touch with all of our riders in the next week or so to talk about what's going to be happening. In the meantime if you have any enquiries about Morpeth RDA please contact the trustees at [email protected] or go to their page http://www.facebook.com/groups/2345396355789229
Morpeth RDA are also hosting a drop in session from 10am-2pm tomorrow ( Monday 2nd May) where you will be able to see all of the ponies. All details are on the poster below, if you are interested in attending please get in touch with the Trustees.
Thank you
The Pegasus Team

Just a little push as this is the last week for donating to this fantastic cause. If you can spare to buy one extra toy for a child who will wake to nothing this Chrstmas then pop it in the collection box in reception and we would be so grateful The box will be there until Sunday. Don't forget the older children too with maybe some smellies, stationery or something similar. Thank you in advance to our lovely Pegasus family πππ π€Ά

We would like to thank everyone who supported us through the summer holidays we have had a great time. Pony mornings were their usual succcess with collecting ponies from the fields, feeding, grooming and tacking up for a ride. We also had treasure hunts, quoits, and crafts to brighten up our arena wall so thank you one and all. Riding lessons were really popular too and we are now looking forward to the October holiday programme.
The programme is open for booking now! We have pony mornings Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with riding lessons in the afternoons from 1pm with the last one being 3.30pm. On Friday we have lessons all day starting from 9am until 12 and then 1pm until 4pm so don't be disappointed book early
Hi all it's a difficult time at the moment and we have spaces available on some of our Pony mornings but we have decided to have a change around a bit. We now have lessons available on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd in the morning from 9am. Give the office a ring on 01670 624780. Lessons are Β£25 per half hour
Well summer is upon us and finally we have sorted the programme out for the summer holidays. From Tuesday 20th July Pony mornings will be available through to a Friday and will continue the whole of the holidays.
Pony mornings are Β£35 and are on from 9am until 12 noon and are available to children aged from 4 to 12/13. You will come to reception to meet our staff and volunteers and they will take you up to the fields to seek the ponies, walk them down to the stables where you will give them their breakfast. Once their breakfast is over you will learn how to groom your pony, muck out and tack up and lots of other things along the way before you have a half hour ride, learning to steer, stop and go if you don't already know this. During the morning you will enjoy other activities such as treasure hunt, pony quiz and what's in the box so a busy morning will definitely be on the cards.
Afternoons are reserved for lessons. These are Β£25 per half hour and begin at 1pm until last lesson at 3.30pm for absolute beginners or for those who can ride to and maybe just need a lttle brushing up on something you did and have now let slip.
No matter what the activity you would like to join in with I'm sure you will have a great time and want to book again. For all bookings please phone the office from Tuesday to Friday during office hours on 01670 624780
We are Covid safe with sanitising stations available throughout the centre and would appreciate it if you let us know in plenty of time if you are feeling unwell or have been asked to isolate
It was a very special day for Glenda who hadn't been on a horse for 2 years but she took to it as if it was just yesterday. Daisy made sure she looked after her. Glenda who is 80 years young and ridden all of her life took to the saddle in the sun and thoroughly enjoyed it and hopefully we will see her again soon Quite an emotional day for all π π₯°
