Looking after our Elderly

So the lovely Ian from Pilmenny has collected what we have here.

We have more to collect and get to them.

These guys support about 50 local seniors

To allow them to live independently

I usually make the packs up but I have decided to give the stuff like this and the lovely volunteers will distribute ❤️👍🥰

I am unsure where we go from here with the charity

I had too many personal issues over the last year

I feel like I’m only just coming up for air

I am thinking that we might only have enough to give to Pilmeny Development Project

We usually provide for 50 local residents

Pilmenny have volunteers who can deliver them directly or they can collect at one of their lunches etc

Even if we only reach these people.

It will still be worth it

I have to say, it’s not been easy recently

My shopping has doubled (but we do have lots of 🐈🫶❤️ to feed too lol)

Each year. The gifts came in later and later.

Some years. We didn’t have enough.

Some years they only came to us the day that the centres closed for Christmas

So we are changing things up

And we are doing the campaign as WINTER GIFTS

It’s very lovely for these peeps to receive for Christmas

But in Scotland, January, February and March are the most challenging months ❤️🫶

Once all the lights go out

And we all stay to hibernate

No matter what I say

The gifts come in the last two weeks of December

So this will mean that those who may have some contact or company over Christmas

Will have something nice to receive

Sooooooooo I am extremely conflicted!!

Because of me, we lost the bank account!

But we have never relied on cash donations in all the years !!!

I have set up a PayPal which could be used for small donations and I can order stuff online saves me big trips to the shops!

I am very unsure what to do.

Do we just lay this one to bed?

Or give it one more go?

Since covid and cost of living

We have not had enough donations

Still……I would do it, even if we only reached those that attend senior lunch groups etc

There are quite specific hygiene products that they need

Personal care products etc

So even if it was more practical gifts

They are always practical in all honesty

I just don’t know where to go

I have tried so hard

But maybe it’s just not been good enough to spread the word

This takes up so much time and effort

As a single parent it’s tough, especially the work I lose out on as clients don’t want to book cause they know I’m busy

And the time and the petrol to deliver everything

Those things would never stop me

But if we are not going to have enough

What can I do………..??

I’m going to meditate and see what I should do # # #

So I am struggling so badly with something!!

So we had a bank account.

But because I didn’t get the letter for change of address Co signed, they eventually shut our account!

I had just had Lewis and to be honest the paperwork side of it was too much for me!

It was really a lot of hard work to get our constitution done.

To get awarded charitable status and get our bank account!

All I have ever wanted is to help our oldies

I am devastated that I need to start again

Can’t stop crying!

But! We need to move the funds that are in there !!

I completely forgot that we had had a donation, oaft, back in 2013 I think 😞🫣

I have never once focused on cash 💰 for this charity but after covid I had to find other ways to receive funds!

I think the universe is pushing me out of my comfort zone 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳

So I have set up a PayPal for now.

I honestly can’t think what is the next stage!

All my dreams for funding this year are halted

I am back at the beginning of a new challenge

Ordered sone extra bits and bobs from asda to make sure we have enough for the people in Haddington 🥰🥰🎁🎁

I will never stop searching for perfect recipients, even if it means taking longer than expected.

I wanted this all sorted in February and I have done it!
