Hello everyone, I'd like to share with you a new photography workshop I'm offering in Autumn this year, visiting the Quantock Hills.

It's a small group workshop for up to 4 people, and we'll be outdoors for 6 hours in the hills, photographing the beautiful woodland of the Quantocks.

As we move into autumn the mornings are getting colder, with dew and mist when the conditions are right. This picture was taken earlier this year but it reminds me of autumn.

Somerset Calendar 2023 - Stephen Spraggon Photography Somerset Calendar 2023 featuring 13 landscape photographs of Somerset's landmarks and countryside views.

Today I'm running my first workshop of the year. Last year I held back on planning workshops due to COVID, but now that government restrictions have eased and vaccines are widely available I'm back to running them normally.

Here's a new photo of Crook Peak. I usually photograph it from high up on the hills but this time I ventured north to a hill near Banwell. It might look very wintry but it was taken at the start of spring. Look carefully and you'll see some pretty pink flowers in the foreground.

Catching up with autumn photographs from last year, here's one from near Triscombe on the Quantock Hills. The sky was clear up until about an hour before sunset, then these wonderful clouds moved in.

Here's a picture from last month, taken at what was probably the peak of autumn on the Mendip Hills.

Here's a new photograph from the end of summer, taken from Wills Neck, the highest point on the Quantock Hills. In the distance you can see the Brendon Hills and the Somerset coastline.

Here's another new photograph from the Mendip Hills, looking towards Crook Peak. It was taken in early summer in between rain showers.

At the start of summer I revisited Crook Peak and Wavering Down so look for new views and compositions. This Hawthorn tree on Wavering Down is one I have returned to several times. It made for a good foreground to the view of the Somerset Levels in the distance.

Earlier this week there was a full moon - a pink moon, named after the blossom of this time of year. Because of the clear forecast for several days in a row I decided to try photographing the moon from a new location, near West Pennard, 4 miles from Glastonbury.

This is the first early morning shoot I've done this year, needing a 3:30am start. I felt like I was out of practice at getting up early, but it soon came back 😃
