🙋Mark has been a fitness instructor at Pendle Leisure Trust for 3 and a half years, and can usually be found at Seedhill AFC or Pendle Leisure Centre. His favourite part of the job is engaging with the customers and helping them to achieve their goals.

If Mark was on death row, he had a very specific (and rather large) meal request...

🥩"The best steak that's ever been cooked, with triple cooked chips, and some veg so I'm not being too fat" for his main
🍰Sticky toffee pudding AND a slice of carrot cake, AND a coffee and after8 mints for his dessert

Hi everyone, we've not been formally introduced as I'm not a social media butterfly and I have a story and it's very important that the people of Pendle and Burnley know about it! My names Ruksana Kauser and I am the founder and manager of The DEEN Centre, my organisation has been running since 2018 ❤️and is a grassroot organisation that helps support women and children. I have 3 children all under the age of 12 and was a stay at home mum for quite a while and realised that there were not many organisations out there to support women like ME in my position. So I set up The DEEN Centre to help women improve their mental health and wellbeing and have been a volunteer to my community ever since! ❤️ I have been asking what our local women of Nelson and Brierfield have wanted for OVER 5 YEARS and after years of hard work, with NO FUNDING within the first 2 years, I have built a reputable organisation that prides itself on supporting local women by delivering what they asked for! I support genuine real women who struggle getting out of the house, who need help paying a bill, who feel very low after having a baby, who want to reach a goal, who just want someone to talk to or who have a language barrier and women who have been let down numerous times by organisations/ local so called community leaders/ those with an immense amount of power and funding but have no direction. Telling people we will help BUT NEVER DO unless it makes them look good on social media! Does any of this resonate with you??

If so, please let me tell you that I was born and raised in Nelson and have been supporting my community in some shape or form for over 15 years. If you've never heard of me, YOU HAVE NOW! Check out my page especially of how I started and understand we have been bringing women together in Nelson and Brierfield for OVER 5 YEARS and it's easy for people to copy and paste my hard work but for all the newbies - please do your research! 🤓 It's quite sad that those who claim to empower women are the same women tearing other womer down but HEY HO, I'M A STRONG MINDED WOMAN, EXTREMELY DETERMINED AND WILL KEEP FIGHTING FOR REAL CHANGE WITHIN NELSON AND BRIERFIELD 💪 Ladies let's keep supporting each other in positive manner and help reshape our community! ❤️ PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT OF SUPPORT AS ITS WELL NEEDED❤️

Well done Kitt, an amazing achievement! 👏

🙋‍♂️Kitt Nelson was one of our Talented Athletes with an Activo Membership between the ages of 9-17 due to his childhood success in football. He was also a member of Pendle Athletics Club for many years and trained with them twice a week at Seedhill AFC Track.

⚽We recently got in touch with him to find that his hard work and dedication to the sport had paid off and he now plays football as his full-time career, at Preston North End Football Club.

🗣️When asked how important regular training and fitness has been for him, Kitt told us "Keeping fit and active is so important for your overall wellbeing, whether your goal is to be a professional athlete, compete for your school or you just want to keep healthy. The coaches at Seedhill are brilliant and it massively helped my endurance and fitness, and, I believe, helped me to be a better footballer."

⭐We're hugely proud to have been able to be part of Kitt's journey to reach his sporting goals, and wish him all the success for his future!
