“Restore the Existing and create the New”

Thursday 2nd May, 10am - 1pm @ Spectrum Wellness & Performance, Fernwood, NG24 3NH. £40.

Join Helen from Pure Yoga to start your day rested and restored through the Art of Restorative Yoga followed by a creative, mindful painting class with Gemma from Thistle and Sketch

Starting at 10am, Helen will guide you into a state of calm by using breath work and passive stretching with lots of soft props to support your body. Her aim is to rest your spine in all its various directions in order to stretch you around your major joints of Shoulders and hips where we hold most of our stresses.
Holding the poses for 10minutes each which will all be floor based therefore available to everyone who is able to spend 1hour on the floor. (No experience of Yoga needed). You will receive a 50minute YouTube recording to do at home if you choose to do the practice in your own time. A day that will be a gift that just keep giving.

It will be a nourishing experience to prepare you to do the creative work with Gemma starting at 11.15am. A quietened mind so the ability to listen to Gemma’s guidance is heightened. During the painting session, you will be guided step by step to create a beautiful image into a canvas board, using acrylic paint. No experience is required, and all are welcome.

Midway through the morning you will be treated to a delicious brunch of overnight oats, a muffin, fresh fruit and a tea or coffee.

All yoga equipment, art materials and refreshments are included in the cost.

Next course started today. 🤓

So important when you work in the health and wellbeing industry to have awareness of these signs and symptoms.

I’m not doing this to diagnose or give my input to people on the bigger picture. Im doing this to help sign post people in the right direction to get help from the right profession.

I can give them Yogic tools to help manage some symptoms but im not a medic or counsellor. I can listen to a customer in the hairdressing chair but I know I’m only a sound bar for people to get stuff of their chest.

Think of a first aid at work course. Im basically the one giving CPR or stopping the blood flow or making them feel at ease and supported until the paramedics come along and do what they do best. (Treatment)

That middle being (me) who sees things unfold can be the person who could save someone’s life and get them to the right service to get the correct treatment to get well again.

Both my careers come along with people wanting to talk out their problems.

Talking and listening is very important but advising can be extremely dangerous.

Mental Health is real and how it shows up is very different in every individual. Knowing my limits on this makes me feel a lot more confident working in my chosen careers.

This course I feel will help me stay focussed on the line I’m not to cross.
Both for my student/client wellbeing and my own.

Always love a bit of Charlotte time. Especially when she lets me go wild and allows me to take lots off her hair. I’m thinking it was 4-5inches. (Should of taken a before and after🙄)This ladies hair is just amazing to work on. Also had some Tia time too. I’ve been doing Tia’s hair since she was a little dot. Scary how time flies. This is loyalty at its best. Here’s to many more hair cuts🫶🏽😍
