Ukraine Tool Donation (Newbury)

Normally I only collect, sort and channel healthcare items (please keep it coming), but for a few days, an exception due to a specific communicated need - tools for mechanics working to maintain the fleet of vehicles at the front.

If you can spare any of the following please message me,

- spanners, pliers, screwdrivers, socket sets, hex key set, WD-40

- Tyre pumps and small compressors

- Car battery chargers

- Car jacks, jack stands

- Vehicle / Boat Winch

- Tenon Saws / Hand Axes

- Folding shovels

- Camping beds and camping folding chairs

- Kneeling mats

- Staple guns and lots of staples

- Cable ties, 300 to 500m/m length, 4.8 to 8m/m width

- Kärcher or similar pressure washer

- Electric cable - 2.5mm Core Black Flex Cable (25A) in up to 50 meter lengths

We are in need of wheelchairs, crutches, adult nappies... ect. We are desperate for manual patient lift, one will make big change to soldiers that have lost their limbs.

This time we had over 20 boxes of pasta, rice and other dry food, 12 boxes of hygiene items and first aid and more than 5 boxes of incontinence pads and nappies and wipes.

All of the above was successfully delivered into Ukraine on Tuesday and was distributed to the families with kids that have lost everything in the war..some of the kids our volunteers met this week have lived through .. it is incredibly heartbreaking..

Our next trip is expected around the 20th of July. This time we are looking for:

✓ baby food, food suitable to small children
✓ sweets, energy bars
✓ dry and canned food for adults
✓ all types of hygiene items - shampoos, shower gels, soap, antibacterial gel/ wipes, toothpastes, toothbrushes, shaving items
✓ first aid, nonprescription medicine, plasters, bandages

We had an incredibly packed van this time around that left for Ukraine on Tuesday this week. We are SO pleased!!

We'd like to confirm that everything is safely delivered to those in need (food and personal hygiene items to the refugee center within Ukraine 🇺🇦 and all army related items safely passed on to those joining the front line).

We have received some beautiful childrens' paintings and cards, and beautiful thank you messages. We can feel that every little thing that has been donated truly has come from the heart! 💙💛❤️

We have now got off the call with our Ukrainian hero who has now returned from his 4th trip into Ukraine since the beginning of WAR.

He told me that WE are amazing.

We are SO grateful to all of you who have supported and keeps supporting!! THANK YOU!! 🤗🤗🤗

About what we have achieved:

Tourniquets have been fully distributed: half of them have been sent to the frontline and half given out to the new army recruits.

First aid kits, medicine etc are being reviewed and are in process of being shared amongst new army recruits and the refugee center.

A few dozens of families have received small food packs that are made from the food and hygiene items that we have collected.

For those who donated sweets - kids will be getting their Easter chocolates and other sweets this upcoming weekend :) 💙

Now is time for another push - we are restarting collections for the 8th of May delivery:

✓ PRIORITY: shampoos, shower gel, soap, toothpastes, deodorants, antibacterial wipes/liquids, baby powder/cream, shaving foam/cream, shaving razors
✓ sanitary pads, incontinence pads, nappies (3, 4, 5 +)
✓ painkillers, allergy tablets, kids medicine, antiseptic cream, plasters, bandages, first aid and all that goes with it
✓dry food, tinned food, sweets
✓mens military outfits, batteries, wind up torches

- Medical items: any medical items including all medicines (unless controlled substances). Particularly tourniquets (CAT tourniquets, for arterial bleeding, not for taking blood samples), dressings (sealed ambulance dressings, blast dressings, haemostatics, chest seals, etc).
- Food: please dontate high calorie, low weight where possible as the transport costs have to make sense here. Protein bars, dry pasta, rice, tinned meat, etc are good, however tins of beans, thin soup, UHT milk etc are not a good use of space and fuel.
- Hygeine items: soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, etc. Only new items please.
- Nappies: any and all packs, no loose nappies please.
- Tampons/pads: any and all, no open packs please.

Please note I cannot accept any clothes, shoes, blankets, duvets, sleeping mats, toys, or any other things not listed (but happy to discuss if you have something you think might be useful).

Our next delivery to Ukraine is on the 8th of May.

We are looking for:

- nappies, especially size 3, 4 and 5
- adult incontiniance pads (used for elderly and wounded)
- ladies pads/ tampons
- medicine (all non-prescription) pain killers, calpol etc
- first aid items, bandages, plasters, first aid kits
- hygiene items - soap, shampoo, toothpaste etc
- food - dry items - pasta, rice, preferably few of the same so refugee center can cook in large batches, dry soups, canned items, coffee, energy bars, chocolates etc
