Tech Edge 1&2 ~ Harwell Science and Innovation Campus

On 18/19th May, Vernon took on the Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge.

Walking 100KM with ~2300M of elevation through the World Heritage Southern Coastline, Vernon completed the event in 27 hours, and in the process raised over £2000 for his chosen charity MND (Motor Neurone Disease). Its not one for the faint hearted, 33% of participants didn’t complete it!

Since then, following the sad news of Rob Burrow’s recent death after his battle with MND, Vernon has decided that once was not enough and has signed up to the Cotswolds Way in two weeks time! Another 100KM with a mere ~2250M ascent in this rendition of the ultra challenge!

We are pleased to announce that we will be working alongside Cottsway Housing again on the Ryegrass project. The scheme comprises of the design & construction of 37 residential dwellings, across 4 blocks, standing 2 storeys high.

Congratulations to our sponsored youth football team the Wroughton Witches' witches who won their first game last Saturday 8-0.

We are pleased to announce the completion of for the project at Badgers Hill, Calcot.
The 2-storey replacement structure provides more space for holistic general teaching, dedicated space for individual work and 1:1 teaching, plus devoted outside social space for recreation time.
The site has access to outdoor sports courts and land for the development of vocational activities, including horticulture.

We were delighted to be working alongside West Berkshire Council again on this project.

The Royal British Legion - The Great Tommy Sleep Out

Our brave colleague, Trevor Marriner completed his sleep out on Saturday 4th March. In total he raised a huge £1, 070.00. He would like to say a massive thank you to Felthams and everyone that donated.

International Women’s Day 2023

Accelerating Equality and Empowerment.

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political accomplishments and successes of women. Today also addresses action for accelerating gender equivalence.

Women working within the construction industry has increased dramatically over the past year, the percentage of women has reached 14%, which has risen from last year and 2021, which was at 10%.

Misconceptions about ‘gender-specific’ roles are decreasing with an accelerating number of women choosing a career in the construction industry and practical roles within the trade.

Project Update:
Project update on our scheme at Cothill House, for a New Sports Centre.
The cladding and render are nearing completion, internally the M&E first fix is well under way.
Currently, we are digging trenches for the electrical supply.
Ceilings are due to start next week, and the screed begins on the on 13th March.

Feltham Construction are proud to be supporting one of our colleagues who is raising money for the Royal British Legion 🌺
Trevor Marriner will be sleeping out of the 4th March to raise money to provide veterans with lifelong care from every service and conflict.

Progress Update: iCollege, Badgers Hill, Calcot

The standing seam roof is due to complete imminently, works on the windows began this week, SFS is complete and cladding is expected to commence on site, the team are looking to begin internal partitions next week.

We are pleased to announce we have been awarded the Oxford Preservation Trust Award for the project at Rose Hill, for 43 Apartments, in Oxford.
A huge congratulations to everyone involved.

Progress update on our project at Integration iCollege, Badgers Hill.

The demolition and piling is complete, along with the ground beams. The structural steel worked commenced on the 28th, in readiness to receive the ground floor and first floor elements, including the staircase. Metsec and standing seam to follow after.
We have included some progress images.

The site will have access to outdoor sports courts and land for the development of vocational activities, including horticulture.
The works also include demolition of the existing building.

We are pleased to announce that we have are working alongside Charterhouse School again on a new Creative Arts Centre.
The scope comprises of the construction of a two storey extension to the Art Studio.
Further works include extensive refurbishment to the John Derry Technology Centre and existing Art Studio, plus external landscaping.

The project will be completed in 3 phases completing this summer, next year and then continuing for completion in summer 2024.
