I’m so happy to share my lovely client’s amazing skin transformation with you.

She has been suffering from Rosacea and have used prescription medication which didn’t help her condition.

We decided to do a course of LED treatments on our Dermalux Tri-Wave device as well as some skincare products to use at home.

The Lumenis LightSheer is a 805 nm diode laser that we use for laser hair removal treatments.

It’s a very effective, fast and safe device that delivers great clinical results.

We have the choice of 2 handpieces with different spot sizes.

The HS integrated Vacuum Assisted Technology works in a unique way by activating the skin’s tactile and pressure receptors resulting in the treatment being basically pain free.

If you were wondering why a course of laser hair removal treatments are recommended, it will help to understand the hair growth cycle.

The hairs go through different growth phases.

Anagen or the active growth phase: During the active growth phase the hairs are attached to the blood supply and at their deepest in the dermis.

Catagen - transition phase: During this short growing phase the hairs stop growing and detach from the blood supply.

Telogen - resting phase: The hairs are now in the resting phase and new hairs start to grow beneath them. And the resting hairs will fall out.

We can only target the hair in the active growth phase with laser and IPL, and effectively destroy it. At any one time there is only a percentage of the hairs in the active growing phase. Therefore we need to do a course of laser / IPL hair removal treatments in order to eliminate the hairs.

ARE YOU SUFFERING FROM ACNE?

Acne is one of the most common skin conditions.
Some contributing factors are:
genetics, hormones, stress and diet.

HOW ACNE IS CAUSED
An increased production in hormones causes the oil glands to enlarge, which subsequently creates more oil.
A build up of dead keratinocytes on the skin surface then traps the oil underneath, resulting in blocked pores.
The skin bacteria that causes acne (Propionbacterium acnes), feed on and break down the oil, while multiplying and causing an infection. The oil glands will keep producing more oil, which then becomes rancid with trapped bacteria. And that develops into a blemish or a spot underneath the skin.
The pores will enlarge because the oil can’t get through the thick layers of dead keratinocytes on the skin surface.
In severe acne infections, the walls of the follicle can break, causing an inflammation in the area. The rupture and inflammation of the follicle can eventually cause necrosis which develops into acne scars.

Are you wearing your SPF+30 daily...even on rainy days?

Whatever the weather it’s important to ALWAYS wear a full spectrum sunscreen, and here is why:

UVB rays are short and energetic, they don’t travel long distances and are much stronger during the summer. UVB rays pe*****te the outer layer of the skin and are also know as ‘burning rays’. They can cause sunburn and potentially skin cancer.

UVA rays however are longer, and like visible light, present for most of the day. Much more intense than UVB, the harmful exposure from UVA can be misleading as it takes time to see the damage. The rays pe*****te the middle layer of the skin and break down the collagen and elastin that form the skin’s supporting structure, causing sagging, lines and wrinkles. And they can also contribute to skin burning and skin cancer.

The bottom line is that you are ALWAYS exposed to harmful UVA rays in daylight, even on the cloudiest days. Safe sun practices and daily sunscreen are essential to good skin care regardless of weather conditions or seasons of the year.
