Please share this information with your children. Thank you.

While we are all enjoying the hot weather, please do not be tempted to go paddling or swimming in any of the open water at Silverdale Country Park

There are dangers under the water which may not be visible from the surface such as water plants, branches, metal from the pit and strong currents which could leave any swimmer in difficulty.

Water temperatures may also be colder than expected, leaving anyone who enters the water at risk of cold water shock.

Signage around the pools say Do Not Enter the Water so please stay safe.

The school grounds are continuing to take shape this Summer. Thank you to Mr Shenton and Mr Bartels who have started on the path leading to our Forest School Area. The flowers that our Saturday working group planted a few months ago are also looking brilliant!

Some more good news for the children at St Luke's.
Today, I have heard that we have won a grant of £1,000. This is going to be used to create a school pond in our amazing Forest School Area.
More information from where we got the grant from in September when we are handed the cheque.

We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games Platinum Mark Award for the 2023/24 academic year. This is the highest you can achieve and only a few schools are given this award.

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

With a total of young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.

As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.

A special thanks to Mr Shenton, Miss Kirkham and the school team in ensuring that this could be achieved.

Well done to the St Luke's team!

We have recently learned of some wonderfully exciting news of a brave little boy from our school. Oliver has now completed his treatments which have lasted throughout his school life and brought the bell from the hospital to ring in front of the school to signal the end of treatment! We are so proud of you Oliver 🙂

Sadly, it can be all too common to encounter mean-spirited comments online – but we don’t have to give them the time of day 🙈🙉 This week, our guide offers expert advice on safeguarding children against “trolling”. 🧌

Very much looking forward to Fathers Day and our Free Dry Stone Walling event. Our hope is to continue rebuilding our Dry Stone Wall after the recent vandalism it received. We have had so many kind offers of help and so many people interested in giving dry stone walling a try. So why not come along. Details below.
Please note this is a small scale local countryside event organised and led by our Ranger and maybe a couple of volunteers as a work party open to all. It's a taster rather than a training course.
As a charity we have limited resources to signpost the park etc with directions so we are assuming most people know the location of the wall or can use what3words and can find their way to us.
Many thanks to everyone for their support.
Hope a few of you can join us.

We are updating our library at school and wanted to create a mural with a difference. Inspired by Jack and the Beanstalk our Artist in Residence created a mural idea to be made from clay. We are very lucky to have been donated lots of clay from Valentine Clays Ltd and the children this week have started to create sections of the mural. Next step is for the clay to dry before it is fired in our kiln and then the children will glaze them. We can't wait to show you the final piece.
