Newcastle Sings: Pop Up Performances March 2025

This is the last chance to sign up for the Newcastle Sings Singposium on Friday 18th October. 65 people have so far booked to take part in a day for anyone connected with schools. It will be an amazing day of singing, learning and fun with material to take straight back into schools the next week.
Join tutors Imelda Shirley, Stuart Overington and Ula Weber for a wonderful and memorable day at the John Marley Centre.

Lovely singing in the Ouseburn today as part of Newcastle Sings Summer Festival

Join us at Laing Art Gallery on Saturday 29th June between 10.30am-12.00pm for performances from our very own NYCP and the fabulous Phoenix Choir. Featuring a new commission by Eleanor Cully Boehringer, a joint performance by both choirs and lots of musical joy to welcome the belated summer sun. ☀️

Free entry / relaxed performance for all.

Our young leaders had a wonderful time this afternoon in a workshop with Chris Bruerton from the King's Singers in preparation for our concerts next month.

Thank you, Chris, for a wonderful afternoon and University for offering this wonderful opportunity!

We're so excited that our June performances will feature a new commission by one of our tutors and conductors, Eleanor Cully Boehringer. We've loved learning her piece 'To Face the Sun' and can't wait to share it with you after a well-earned half-term break!

Last night, we said goodbye to one of our members, Isabela. She has been an inspiration to all of our singers and staff during her time in NYCP, and we wish her and her family all the best for what the future has in store. Hopefully, it includes lots of singing! 🎤🎼

We're very excited to be welcoming some new members to the Newcastle Youth Choir Project from next Tuesday's rehearsal. Anyone else want to join us? All young singers aged 11-18 are very welcome to take part!

Thank you to everyone who came to support NYCP in their concert with Newcastle Choral Society at Newcastle Civic Centre last night and to North Tyneside-Music EducationHub and Music Partnership North’s symphony orchestra for their fantastic performance. 🎶

Special thanks to Oliver Tarney for being with us for our performance of his piece Night Before Christmas, and to the wonderful Nick Butters for accompanying both choirs.👏👏👏
