Lee is an incredible mentor, director and dramaturg with a proven track record. He's offering a five-week workshop around writing and performing your first solo show. No matter where you currently are in your comedy career, there'll be something you can learn from this course. Spaces are limited so get in there while you can!
If you're lucky enough to be at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this month then get yourself along to see some of our favourites!

We fu***ng love it when our pals do cool stuff like this!
Long Live favourites Harry Ford - Comedy (NAOTY runner up 2021) and Connor Read Comedy (NAOTY winner 2022) are debuting their solo shows today at The Stand Comedy Club, Newcastle today.
Best of luck lads, you're gonna smash it! Consensually of course!
In the lead up to the Edinburgh Festival, we'll be hosting previews of some of our favourite comics' new solo shows. First up it's Sean Turner!
You can expect the usual open mic shenanigans in the first half, then it's over to Sean for some adorae nonsense. Join us from 8pm on Tuesday 11th June!
Friends of Long Live, John Scott and Cal Halbert, are running more comedy courses and workshops. If you're brand new or just looking to get some pointers, get in touch with them!
They're both incredibly funny and knowledgeable chaps.
Catch them at a Long Live soon! Probably! Lads?
WE'RE BACK!
From Tuesday 16th April, our new home will be the Town Wall! It's a gorgeous bar on Pink Lane with great food and drink, a welcoming atmosphere and space for us to grow.
We're taking bookings again now so get in touch if you'd like a 5 minute spot. Everyone welcome, from first timers to pro comics.
See you there you silly c***s! x
Have you got tickets for his Tyne Theatre show on 20th April yet?
Anyone who's been to Long Live before will know how supportive Lee is of all the local new acts, and it'll be cool as f**k to see him centre stage instead of in the background bigging up and creating opportunities for someone else.
He'll be supported by the very funny lady what also happens to be a main character on BBC's Casualty Sammy Dobson as well as Felt Nowt New Act of the Year 2023 Shay R***r!

Kind Regards

WILDCARD BABY YEEEEEEHAAAAAAW!

HEAT #1 Jack Simmonds
HEAT #2 Pamela Takefman
HEAT #3 Cooper Robson
HEAT #4 Helen White
See these four lucky sausages along with the other eight heat winners in the Felt Nowt New Act of the Year 2023 grand final at the Prohibition Bar on Sunday 14th January. Get tickets here:

Look at these little beauties!
In what has become a yearly tradition we like to announce the FIRST ELEVEN of eleven promising newer comedians in the North East to keep an eye out for in the new year.
It is by no means an exhaustive list and, in a lot of ways quite arbitrary, but these are just some of the acts we think you should keep an eye out for.
1. RISHABH CHOUHAN
Arguably the most established act on this list, Rishabh began performing in Hindi but now also performs in English and really hasn’t missed a step. A strong anecdotalist with precision punchlines.
2. ELIZABETH MITCHELL
Strong gags with an occasional acidic touch, Elizabeth has already turned a few heads, it takes skill for a newer act to be able to palatably deliver sometimes harsh material and she has that.
3. SHAY R***R
A bit of a comedian’s favourite, Shay is often brought up by new comedians as someone they feel has a bright future. A bit of a natural.
4. PAMELA TAKEFMAN
With experience in the LA improv scene Pamela came to stand up with a running start and looks very promising. Not afraid to tell her truth, she is also effortlessly likeable.
5. MARTIN NEIL
Martin is someone who has obvious potential to be a success in club comedy. Confident, assured and fond of a huge punchline. Nothing fancy, but in a very good way.
6. HELEN WHITE
A relatable act who has really worked hard to hone her act over the last year. An absolute testament to the effect gigging a lot can have, making huge improvements and constantly improving.
7. ADRIAN HANLON
Similarly to Helen, Adrian works incredibly hard and people are beginning to notice. Like all these acts, he’s still figuring it out but the pieces are absolutely coming together and consistently strong reactions with it.
8. BEN LYCETT
From that consistent stream of comedy talent, Durham University, Ben may well be the next off the blocks. Unafraid to be a little off the wall, he has the potential to grow into something very interesting.
9. PSYCHIC STU
A really fun character, Stu is, as his name suggests, a crap psychic. He holds this together with a camp charm and a cutting edge. He’s learning quickly how to turn his online persona into real world success.
10. JOHN HART
John has a lot going for him. He’s at once relatable but different and he never forgets the joke. He has the air of a craftsman and will definitely continue to improve.
11. MATTHEW WHEELWRIGHT
He’s gawky, he’s awkward but, well, what a comedy mind. He’s learning slowly how to feel comfortable onstage and, once he is, just watch him. A real favourite of other acts who recognise a diamond in the rough.
KELLY! ❤️

Congratulations to the winners of the penultimate heat - Elizabeth Mitchell and Matt Wheelwright!
Another tough heat to call with loads of promising local talent, zero ego and a large quantity of amusement.
You'll see these two again, and definitely some wildcards, in the final at Prohibition Bar on Jan 14th.
Thanks to MC Kelly Edgar (shoddy, really shoddy) and judges Fran Garrity (pro comic, DJ and all round good egg), Neil Harris (big nerd and lion tamer) and Harry Ford (runner up 2021, he suits the past).
See you on 19th December for Heat #4!
Here we go again! Turns out there's a s**t tonne of funny people in the North East, let's get another two into the final.
Over four Tuesday nights, Long Live Comedy will be hosting the Felt Nowt NAOTY heats. Each week a panel of pro comics and industry professionals will choose two acts to go through to the final in January. Come down and support the future of north east comedy. It's still free man!
Heat #3
Tuesday 12/12/2023
8pm
Congratulations to the winners of the second heat - Howard Lax and Matty Ride-Smith!
That was a truly sensational heat and the judges were in creases. Choosing just two people was a fu***ng nightmare, seriously.
You'll see these two again, and probably some wildcards, in the final at Prohibition Bar on Jan 14th.
Thanks to MC John Scott and judges Anth Young (Comedy Cup winner 2023), Anja Atkinson (all round legend) and Chris Cantrill (Edinburgh award nominee).
See you on 12th December for Heat #3!
