If you haven’t heard the exciting news, STACK is partnering with Newcastle United to create a dedicated fanzone and a 7-day-a-week street food and entertainment venue right next to St. James' Park.

We are beyond excited to share with you all that Bao Down will be one of the 11 traders joining the St. James’ STACK presented by Sela when they open their doors this summer.

As a business born in this vibrant city, it is an absolute honour to be part of this amazing project. We can't wait to bring our unique flavours to this new venue and be part of the incredible atmosphere on Match-days.

Baodown, we think the weekend starts on Friday. Come meet your Work friends for lunch. I’ll come on your own will keep you entertained.

and developing our dishes at our kitchen on the Seaburn coast we are ready to bring baos to the city 🥳

Coming soon to the historic GRANGIER MARKET !

As well as exciting additions, weekly specials and a range of Asian cocktails to pair with your dishes 🍸🍹, we will be serving all your favourites from Seaburn - pork baos 🍘, Katsu curry 🍛 and our much loved Korean fried chicken 🍗

Soon to be the perfect lunch escape from a town shopping trip; or a well earned break from work - we will be ready to serve you scrumptious Asian meals and snacks we are proud of 🤗

Thursday is the start to the weekend right!

Well we are starting the weekend.

We love our little spot by the sea.

Stack newcastle has been a perfect starting block for my small business and it has been great to see many other independent businesses thrive here. Having the support from everyone at STACK and the other traders has been good for the business and allowed me to grow beyond STACK.

Although I’m sad it has come to an end it was never meant to be permanent. We have built a fantastic foundation at STACK and we’ve got great plans for the future. We hope to have an amazing last six weeks, and from there I’m confident things can only go onwards and upwards.

There is no easy way to share this news and we are extremely sad to have to make this announcement.

After 4 years at Pilgrim Street, we can confirm STACK Newcastle will close at midnight on Monday 2 May 2022 to make way for the Pilgrim Quarter development.

We have had an amazing four years, welcoming over 3 million visitors and have been overwhelmed by the support you have shown us.

Together we have shared STACK’s of street food, STACK’s of live music and STACK’s of fun.

You have filled our venue with an unforgettable atmosphere, smiling faces and best of all joy!

This morning we had the difficult task of sharing this news with our staff and traders who are the backbone of the operation and have worked tirelessly over the past four years to bring you an exciting and unique venue.

We can’t thank them enough for all of their hard work and dedication to making STACK the huge success it has become.

Wherever possible we will be relocating staff to our other venues or supporting them to find new jobs.

We know that the closure of STACK will also mean the closure of your favourite independent street food/retail businesses. However, we strongly believe they have all created offerings that will continue to thrive as they move on from STACK to the next part of their journey. We hope you will continue to support them at their other locations or new venues in the future.

We have 6 weeks ahead to make the most of the time we have left at Pilgrim Street. We will be hosting a month-long closing party throughout April, culminating with one all mighty final bank holiday weekend at STACK from Sat 30 – Monday 2 May.

We hope you will all join us over the next 6 weeks to celebrate everything we have become famous for – great street food, great entertainment, and a great atmosphere.

The good times would not have been possible without you – THANK YOU for making STACK your own.

So, wipe your eyes, grab your mates and head to STACK for our final farewell dates.

For the time being please use the entrance from Northumberland St. The Pilgrim St entrance remains closed for the time being.

We will be closed again tomorrow (Friday 25 Feb) until 4pm, but open as usual over the weekend.
