Georgina Hall Personal Trainer
Personal trainer and nutrition advisor based in Newcastle upon Tyne. That’s the difference that keeps the momentum going.
I educate & empower womxn to take control of their own training & nutrition through online, one-to-one and group coaching. I’ve cultivated my skills and services over the last nine years in the industry training thousands of women online, outside and on the gym floor. GPT is not just about the training session, it’s about what goes on outside of the hour in the gym; building a community to encourage, inspire, support and motivate you with nutrition and exercise, empathy and compassion.
How quick people have been to make judgement, call out and bully someone based primarily on appearance and misinformation…
How are q***r and gender non conforming people meant to show up in spaces where we don’t know how we’ll be received because of what we look like and/or who we are?
All the anxiety everyone else feels going to new places and trying new things - then add fear of discrimination on top.
I’ve seen some outrageous and disgusting things written and posted by so called health and fitness professionals in the last few days…
If you own a gym/training facility or run any kind of fitness group and claim to be iNclUSivE, you need to be explicit in WHO you are including and what makes you a “safe” space for those people.
A little diversity training wouldn’t go amiss either.
There’s a big difference between being tolerated and being welcome.
At the backyard, you’re not just passively welcome - the space was built with you in mind 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🏋️♂️
I went for pizza with and I was as unhinged as you’d expect…
are bringing community builders together to help put diet culture in the bin.
Creating safe spaces, making fitness fun and encouraging people to find joy in movement
Recognising that exercise isn’t another tool to berate ourselves with, smaller doesn’t equal better and everyone can feel the benefit from it…
Whether it’s lifting weights, yoga, twerking, running or chucking yourself in the North Sea.

How many le****ns does it take to put up a notice board…?
3 actually.
1 to hammer her own thumb
1 to lose interest, wander off and do something else
1 to finish the job
All under the judgemental eye of our supervisor…
Was talking about this with a client the other day and think it’s interesting so thought I’d share…
Pre exhaust training is a method of (usually) superset training wherein you combine an isolation exercise with a compound exercise.
If we take bench press as an example we might use a chest fly to target the chest (and pre exhaust) before performing a bench press. This is so that the assisting muscles in the bench press aren’t a limiting factor for working towards failure on the chest.
Ie smaller weaker muscles will get tired before big ones so hit the big ones first so they all get tired at the same time 👍
I probably wouldn’t programme these for beginners as they already have a lot of scope for building strength and progressing with the compound move alone (by adding weight, improving technique etc)…
But for more advanced lifters who need to stimulate muscle growth without adding extra load to exercises, or to work around injuries, or to add variation, it might be useful.
“The PreEx training can decrease the total training volume while maintaining results in strength and hypertrophy when comparing to traditional resistance training.” Trindade 2019
So like everything - not for everyone but might be useful to some!

It’s been an honour training some beautiful people pre and post surgery over the last 6 months or so and seeing the difference their gender affirming care has made to their souls…
the weight it has lifted for them…
the contentment they can now feel in fully being themselves…
March 31 is Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV)
It is a day to celebrate the lives and contributions of trans people, while also drawing attention to the poverty, discrimination, and violence the community faces.
So to all my trans and non-binary bebes… though you may not always feel safe enough to be visible - know that you are loved, valid and people have your back.

Timely diagnosis saves lives. Take a second look 👀 at your breasts. If you notice changes to your breasts, such as a lump, pitting of the skin or pain, go and see a health practitioner for a check-up.
Most breast lumps are not cancerous. Those that are, can be more effectively treated if identified early.

18/40: Why did TLC advise us not to chase waterfalls again…?
Was it because they had a recently groomed fluffy white dog?
Getting outside in nature is good for the soul my pals. It’s science.
Get a cheese scone while you’re there, even better.
Perfect weekend playing out…

Two seasons of weather in Northumberland ❄️☀️

Shepherds hut is - it’s the second time we’ve been because it’s dog friendly, in a beautiful location and we love it 🥰
Just wanted to leave this on the grid before the end of lgbtq history month 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️…
When I started out in the fitness industry about 13 years ago now…
I spent years at women’s gyms/commercial gyms trying to fit in but not belonging and not really talking about my life outside of the gym (which was pretty lonely).
Then I’d go training with lads lads lads because there weren’t many women or gay folx in boxing at that time…
Whenever anyone asked me “do you have a boyfriend?” I’d just go “nah.”
(Don’t ask people this kind of question ok thnx)
Then I worked in gyms where I could be more myself but still with the cost of fitting in, not with authenticity, not “belonging”, still diluting myself or acting up for the sake of others.
I feel quite sad for younger G that I had to do that… but it’s why I’m committed to being who I needed then - now; and moving forward.
I’ve built the gym community that I want to be a part of and I’m grateful for everyone else who wants to be a part of it too 🫶🏻
Photos by wonderful 📸
See how there’s no picture of the person who said this…?
Because it absolutely does not matter what they look like.
And although I do like to showcase clients/backyard pals who don’t mind because I think it helps people to relate and gauge a vibe sometimes…
A picture of a person in this case would have undermined the fact that this is an identity transformation.
This is from a person who I coached online for a couple of years before I convinced them to come to the gym with me… a person who hated the whole idea of training/exercise/the gym because of past experiences and because it didn’t fit their identity.
Since strength training at the backyard with me twice a week over the last 6-9 months they’ve realised not only can it feel good to train in a way that focuses on strength and what the body can do… but they can also shift their identity so it still includes the things it did before, while also making space for new elements…
You can be a fun, social person who goes out and drinks, enjoys meals out, spends time with family, loves art and culture… AND lifts weights, walks more, tries new things, values health and wellness…
You can be whatever you want to be, what you want can change and grow over time and behaviours can be learned and practiced - you’re never stuck where you are.
