Linthorpe Pottery Jardinière & Pedestal

A large late 19th-century Victorian pottery jardinière on a pedestal by Linthorpe.

The jardinière or planter is a Christopher Dresser design in an Egyptian style with molded scroll handles.

The planter has the molded mark of a vase on the underside.

The pedestal has a circular top and base and is decorated with an iridescent glaze.

The jardinière and pedestal are in good condition with the slightest of nicks to the jardinière rim. (Circa 1880)

Chinese Rosewood Marble Top Stand

A late 19th to early 20th century Chinese carved rosewood and marble top stand.

The stand has a shaped top that has a beaded edge and a rouge and white marble inset.

The stand has four legs with carved masks at the top, claw and ball feet, and a carved frieze surround.

The four legs are joined by an interlocking cross stretcher.

The stand is in good condition. (Circa 1900)

An 18th-century Georgian mahogany 'D' shaped or demi lune side table.

The table has three square legs and a deep cross-grained frieze beneath the top.

The table is in good condition, made from very good quality mahogany, and has an original deep color. (Circa 1770)

Royal Dux Porcelain Cockatoo

A mid-20th century Royal Dux porcelain figure of a cockatoo.

The realistic cockatoo displays its crest and sits on a branch with foliage underneath.

The tail of the cockatoo still has its original gold-colored Royal Dux label.

The underside is marked 'Royal Dux made in Czechoslovakia' and has the 'Dux' raised triangle mark.

The figure is in excellent original condition. (Circa 1950)

19th Century Gilt Wood Mirror

A mid-19th century carved wood and gilded wall mirror.

The wooden frame is decorated with carved acanthus, fruit, and flowers with a coronet and a cornucopia of flowers.

The mirror plate has some minor spotting and the gilding has mellowed with age.

This good-looking mirror has some minor chips to the gilding. (Circa 1840)

A pair of early 20th-century Japanese Satsuma pottery vases.

The vases are decorated with Japanese ladies in traditional dress and foliage with trailing flowers.

The underside of the vases has a black and gold signature mark in a square.

The vases are in very good condition. (Circa 1910)

Victorian Rosewood Prayer Chair

A fine example of a 19th-century Victorian prayer chair or 'Prie Dieu' chair.

The chair has the best quality carved rosewood frame and cabriole-shaped front legs.

The chair is covered in beautiful needlework upholstery which is in immaculate condition.

The chair is in very good condition with a couple of old woodworm holes in the back of the frame that are long dead and have been re-treated. (Circa 1860)

A 19th century 'Tole Ware' and brass mechanical bellows.

The toleware body of the bellows is decorated with flowers and foliage and has heavy brass edges, rivets, and a hand wheel.

The hand wheel has a leather insert that rubs against the center spindle to turn the fan in the bellows and has a turned wood k**b handle.

The nozzle at the outlet end of the bellows has a brass spout and the whole nozzle is removable.

This very decorative mechanical bellow is in sound but used condition. (Circa 1850)

HMS Victory Brass Door Stop

A mid-19th century brass door stop in the shape of Horatio Nelson's flagship HMS Victory.

The door stop or 'porter' has a heavy oblong cast base with the shape of Victory sitting in the waves.

The long handle is made in the style of a spiral rope and has a curled serpent hand grip to the top.

The back of the base is lead filled to give better weight to hold doors open.

The doorstop is in very good condition. (Circa 1840)

Edwardian Silver Plated Table Lamp

A large Edwardian silver-plated hexagonal table lamp.

The lamp is stamped "R W Sorley Glasgow" on the base.

Robert & William Sorley was a company created in the later 19th century that sold high-quality jewelry, silver, and silver plate and has very large, high-class premises.

The lamp is in good working condition with a few minor marks on the silver plate and has been recently re-wired. (Circa 1905)

An 18th-century Georgian oval urn stands with a slide.

The stand has a satinwood veneered top with marquetry inlays to the center.

The stand has a mahogany serpentine-shaped frame and square tapering legs that are box wood edged and have spayed toes.

The urn stand is in good condition. (Circa 1790)

18th Century Georgian Dumb Waiter

An 18th-century Georgian mahogany three-tier dumb waiter, reputedly from Wynyard Hall.

The dumb waiter has three circular tiers that have a turned raised edge and turned "Gun Barrel" style supports in between.

The dumb waiter stands on three cabriole legs that have pad feet and concealed brass casters.

The dumb waiter is in good condition. (Circa 1800)

Mid-19th Century Mahogany Cheval Mirror

A mid-19th century Victorian mahogany cheval dressing mirror.

The original mirror plate is held in a mahogany frame that has a rounded edge and a solid mahogany paneled back.

The frame is held between two tapering supports that have a platform base with a cross stretcher and four carved scroll decorations.

The twin platform bases are raised on flat bun feet with disguised casters underneath.

This quality cheval mirror is in good condition, the mirror plate has a couple of minor spots. (Circa 1850)

Four George IV Rosewood Chairs

A set of four early 19th century George IV rosewood Gillows of Lancaster design chairs.

The chairs are very high quality and made from solid rosewood apart from the front and back rails.

The top rail has scroll and acanthus decorations to both ends and the center rail is lappet carved and has a center-carved patera.

The chairs have turned, reeded, and tapering rosewood front legs that have a carved disc to the top and square saber back legs.

The chairs have large drop-in pad seats that are upholstered in a pale gold patterned contemporary material.

These fine-quality chairs are in very good condition and have a waxed finish. (Circa 1830)

Victorian Cut Glass Oil Lamp

A 19th-century Victorian cut glass oil lamp.

The tall lamp has an opaque and ruby glass shade, a circular base with an oval facet cut edge, and a hollow nine-sided tapering stem.

The oil reservoir bulbous glass bowl is facet cut and has gilt brass fittings that are stamped "Hinks & Son Patent".

The brass wick adjuster has a ceramic center with "Hinks No 2 Duplex" printed on it.

The brass fitting has been converted to take a bulb for an electric light.

The lamp is in good condition and converted to electric but would need re-wiring. (Circa 1870)

Large Georgian Demi Lune Sideboard

A large 18th-century Georgian mahogany demi-lune-shaped sideboard.

The sideboard is very decorative with an inlaid, banded, and segmented top that has a boxwood cross-grained square edge.

The sideboard comprises a hinged door cupboard at each end and a wedge-shaped center drawer flanked by two deep drawers.

The interesting wedge-shaped center drawer slides on a central rail or runner.

The drawers and cupboards are cross-banded, are boxwood inlaid and have circular brass ring handles.

The sideboard stands on six square tapering box wood strung legs that have block toes.

This fine and attractive serving sideboard is in good condition with working locks and keys for the two end cupboards. (Circa 1790)

Large Japanese Root Wood Okimono

A large 19th-century Japanese carved root wood figure or Okimono.

Okimono is a term used to describe a standing ornament for display or decorative objects.

This large piece of root wood tapers and at the top is carved the head and shoulders of a woman holding a small child.

The woman has a carved necklace and the child is holding a small flask in their right hand.

The okimono is in original condition with some old cracks running along the grain. (Circa 1880)

Large Georgian Glass Rummer

A very large early 19th-century Georgian glass rummer or wine glass.

The rummer has a bucket-shaped bowl with cut and faceted decoration, a ball knop stem, and a slightly domed foot that has a pontil mark underneath.

The glass is in very good condition, these oversized glasses can be used as a dessert bowl or just as a fun decoration. (Circa 1830)

Champlevé Enamel Four Glass Clock

A late 19th-century French gilt brass four-glass mantel clock with champlevé enamel decoration.

The clock has eight-day works that strike the hour and a half hours on a coiled gong.

The works are stamped "Rack, French Make" and the number A1259.

The clock is in good working condition, and the brass case is good but has mellowed with age. (Circa 1890)

Mendlesham Fruit Wood Windsor Chair

An early 19th-century Mendlesham elm and fruitwood Windsor chair.

The chair is most likely from the Mendlesham area of Suffolk where the Day family produced this chair style from the late 18th century.

The armchair has a lovely-shaped elm seat with fruitwood arms, legs, and a spindle back.

The back frame is decorated with boxwood line inlays, turned balls, and a pierced splat.

The chair is in good condition. (Circa 1820)

Pair of Japanese Satsuma Vases

A pair of early 20th century Japanese Meiji period (1864-1911) Satsuma pottery vases.

The vases are decorated with Buddhist monks (Kannon & Rakan) encircled by a dragon and all highlighted in gilt.

The vases are signed with a Japanese character mark underneath and are in good condition.

The vases come with a pair of turned and carved wood stands.(Circa 1910)

George IV Rosewood Coffee Table

An early 19th century George IV rosewood coffee table.

The table was originally a library table but has been reduced in height to make a very useful coffee table.

The table has an oblong top with a rounded edge and twin platform supports that are raised on bun feet.

The table has a single mahogany lined slim drawer concealed along one side and has a hand grip underneath to open it.

The coffee table is in very good condition and would be a wonderful addition to any home. (Circa 1835)

Dutch Beach Scene by Jan Hovener

A 20th century oil on canvas painting by the Dutch artist Jan Hovener (1936-2021).

The painting shows an early 20th century beach scene of Scheveningen beach The Hague, with ladies and children paddling in the sea.

The painting is signed in the bottom right hand corner 'J. J. Hovener' and has on the back some information on the artist along with an old postcard photograph of the beach.

The painting is in very good condition and is held in a carved wood, gilded and painted frame. (Circa 1970)

A late 19th to early 20th century Edwardian bronze group of two boys fighting.

The boys are squabbling, one has a hat and is holding two puppy dogs in his right hand.

The other boy has grabbed his face and hair, possibly fighting over the puppies.

The figures stand on an oval base modelled on ground with shrubs and bushes.

The bronze is in good condition. (Circa 1900)

An early 19th century Regency rosewood single drawer music canterbury.

The canterbury has a central division with glazed sides that have gilt brass beads to hold them in place.

The drawer is solid rosewood with a pair of brass k**b handles and the canterbury stands on four turned legs with brass casters.

An unusual heavy quality rosewood canterbury in good condition. (Circa 1820)

A fine Victorian burr walnut four tier corner whatnot.

The four burr walnut shelves are decoratively inlaid with box wood and have serpentine shaped front edges.

The shelves have turned and carved walnut supports and there is a pierced gallery to the back of the top shelf.

The whatnot stands on three turned legs with ceramic and brass casters.

The chandelier has five down turned scrolling arms with acanthus decoration and shaped cut crystal shades.

The chandelier has a circular pierced ormolu rose and can be fitted tight to a ceiling or from a chain if fitted to hang to your chosen drop. (Circa 1910)
