How Herbs Can Help Alleviate Allergies ?

Allergies and hay fever are frustrating — to say the least. Right when the season starts to warm up, we’re hit with a flurry of symptoms involving runny nose, lethargy, coughing or sneezing, and itchiness in the skin and throat.

Magnolia (Magnolia officinalis) is a popular herb in traditional Chinese medicine where it’s referred to as Xin Yi Hua. TCM magnolia is used to manage runny nose, congestion, sinus headaches, and phlegm — all of which are common symptoms of hay fever and allergies.

The bark of the magnolia tree contains two important chemicals — honokiol and magnolol. Both of these compounds have been shown to provide reliable antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Animal studies have shown that magnolia extracts inhibit an immunoglobulin called IgE — which is intimately involved in hypersensitivity (allergic) reactions.

Xanthium (Xanthium strumarium) is a popular traditional Chinese herb for managing allergy symptoms. It’s more commonly referred to as Cang Er Zi in TCM and is a common ingredient in anti-allergy formulas.

Like many of the best anti-allergy herbs, xanthium is considered an invasive w**d (a common trend with medicinal herbs).

Xanthium contains a compound called caffeoyl-anthocyanoside, which has been studied for its ability to regulate allergic rhinitis (stuffy nose) and hives. One study found administration of xanthium prior to exposure to allergens reduced allergy symptoms and IgE levels.

How does acupuncture work for fertility?👶

Acupuncture originated in China around 4000 BC when Traditional Chinese Medicine doctors believed that acupuncture works by regulating the flow of ‘Qi’ (often translated as a ‘vital force’ or ‘energy’).
But it’s only recently, with advancements in science, that we started to understand how this ancient healing tradition works from a science perspective.
When acupuncture needles stimulate specific acupuncture points, this causes the release of chemicals called neurotransmitters. These neurotransmitters then travel via the central nervous system to the brain, where they either activate or inhibit other nerve signals. It’s these neurotransmitters that regulate the release of hormones and control different aspects of health.

Review: I went to Mr Max on crutches having had a serious accident with multiple injuries which were re-injured by second and third accidents. The first accident resulted in extreme weakness of my right leg which made it so unsteady that it would suddenly destabilise and cause me to fall. It therefore provided occasion for the other accidents to happen. Each accident was excruciatingly painful. The photos horrified those who saw them.

Five weeks after the first accident I was concerned that remedial treatment with the NHS had not properly begun. This was attributable to the nature of the situation rather than any fault of the staff. They were excellent. Nevertheless, I judged that the injuries would require an immediate, intensive intervention on a regular basis, otherwise there would have been the danger of knee-lock. In addition, I was totally unable to raise my right leg when lying on my back which made me think that the paralysis might have been permanent. This caused me to be alarmed.

Dr Max was able to offer the kind of remedial treatment that I was seeking. I visited his clinic every day for over 3 weeks for intensive sessions. It soon became evident that his expertise was very impressive. He augmented acupuncture by his extraordinary skill in body manipulation. Moreover, he was able to answer every question I posed with his considerable professional knowledge. He was always focused once treatment was in progress.

I noted significant progress over the timescale of just over 3 weeks. He has brought me to a state in which the basis has been laid for a complete recovery though this will take time. If it had been possible to prolong my treatment I would not have hesitated but I am now in a much better state thanks to Dr Max.

I am deeply grateful that he was able to offer me this treatment. His unique approach is a great asset to the North East of England. I highly recommend him.
