Semtamology
A space to share watercolour experiments. οΏ½οΏ½
The last few weeks, we have witnessed scenes of horror on our phones. There is a long list of things that hurt me, hurt us, I will run out of words if I began to enlist.
I will focus on one thing today, the olive trees in Palestine. They are among the oldest inhabitants of the land. The olive is the oldest resident. The olive, its oil, its branch, are symbols of nutrition, remedy, and peace, yet olive trees have been and continue to be destroyed in their thousands. Wonder what their crime is.
Among the many things on my list i am mourning for, men, women, children, animals, hospitals, medics, mosques, churches, the list is never ending, this is for the olive, the zaitoon.
Painting food again...thalis are pretty no?

The blue church in Bratislava seemed like a good subject to try using an analogous colour scheme.
The paper, paints, paintbrushes, and easel used to create this piece were from .art

Walking from my office to campus, I came across this mushroom like big tree (or a bunch of trees, couldn't find that out) and immediately thought of painting it.

The month of May wasn't the most productive in terms of number of paintings done but definitely so in other ways.
1. I set up my studio..just a folding table and a drawing board in the middle of my lounge but it is now my designated painting space.
2. Started using my .art
drawing board which I'm very happy with.
3. Recorded nearly the entire painting process of one of my paintings
I think that's not bad π€ π

This started out well enough but the finished piece is nothing like I imagined and not in a good way ππ here's to celebrating failures! π©π½βπ¨π¨ππΌ

Painting delicious looking food is fun. Thought instead of food I would paint an ingredient and see how it turns out. I present to you the mighty onion! π§

I'm still trying to understand how to work with toned paper. I think I need more homework with subject, colour choice and values. This to me is a bit of a failure but I think it is worth celebrating nevertheless. π©π½βπ¨π¨
Thanks for taking a wonderful photograph of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Tallinn.

Tried some ink art last night. Never thought I could work in monochrome and with ink but you challenge yourself in some way everyday π©π½βπ¨πͺπ½
