We have identified a potential issue with a number of our boilers.

In a small proportion of the affected range of boilers (approximately 1 in 10,000), if an excessive volume of air has become trapped inside the boiler in a fault condition, it could cause the boiler to overheat and fail.

At Ideal Heating, we are committed to ensuring the quality, reliability and the safety of our products.

For this reason we will apply a safety upgrade to boilers manufactured between August 2022 and 7th January 2024 across the following ranges:

Boilers in current production are not affected.

We are directly contacting everyone who has registered the warranty of an affected boiler and asking them to visit www.idealsupport.co.uk to register their details to enable us to arrange an engineer visit, or call us free of charge on 0808 175 9173.

Customers can also check if the boiler in their home is affected using the dedicated webpage www.idealsupport.co.uk or by calling the freephone number 0808 175 9173.

Customers can continue to use their boiler. We are advising to repressurise it. Simple instructions for how to do this can be found on our dedicated webpage www.idealsupport.co.uk or in the videos shown below.

Carbon monoxide is a deadly gas that cannot be detected by human senses. Basic household appliances such as cookers, boilers, stoves and fireplaces can all produce carbon monoxide. Luckily, there are some simple steps you can take to stay safe, and help is at hand - if you suspect carbon monoxide, call 0800 111 999.

Due to increases in energy prices and the cost-of-living crisis, households are desperate to keep costs down. But cutting corners costs lives, and it is important not to place you and your household at risk when it comes to keeping warm.

Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week is the perfect time to refresh your knowledge and join the campaign to raise awareness!

With snow on the horizon this weekend, here's a little helping hand to get you back up and running, without the need for an engineer if you happen to find yourself without heating or hot water.

How do I know if the condensate pipe is frozen?
If part of your condensate pipework is outside and does freeze during a prolonged period of very cold weather, you might hear a gurgling noise coming from the boiler and if your boiler has a digital display, you may see an ‘EA’ error code too.
There’s no need to worry if your condensate pipe freezes. You can usually thaw it safely without the need to call an installer or engineer by following our guide on how to defrost your condensate pipe.

Look for an outdoor pipe* connected to your boiler
* it's usually white plastic connecting to an external drain

If safe to do so, pour WARM* water along the pipe
step 3
Reset your boiler. All should be working* normally
*If the pipe is defrosted
*Not boiling wate

Gas Safety Week 2023 is here! This year celebrates the diversity of the 152,000 Gas Safe engineers and the essential role that they play in keeping the nation gas safe.

Ensure your gas appliances are checked annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Unchecked gas appliances may increase the risk of CO poisoning, gas leaks, fires and explosions. Don't leave it to chance.

Avoid illegal fitters – always use a GSR engineer It’s a legal requirement for gas engineers to be Gas Safe registered.
