An open plan kitchen living area is an appealing concept for many people and offers many benefits. However, there can be some downsides! Before you begin, itโ€™s worth considering the advantages and disadvantages. Here are our top 5 pros and cons:

Bathroom renovation

The project started by ripping out the existing bathroom. Then we plastered the walls and ceiling and inserted the shower tray. Next we tiled the whole room then laid the floor with LVT. Finally the rest of the bathroom suite was installed including an accessible toilet at comfort height.

Blocked off the lounge with a stud wall between the lounge and dining room. Knocked the wall down between the kitchen and dining room. Removed the old kitchen, flooring and back door. Plastered the kitchen, dining room and living room. Installed the new kitchen and laid the new floor.

Outdoor kitchen

Brick walls were built onto an existing concrete base and plumbing completed. Then the roof went up and electrics were installed. The kitchen unit was then built including the install of an outdoor oven, barbecue and fire pit. Finally doors and windows were fitted, fencing went up and the internal walls were plastered.

Kitchen extension

To enlarge the existing kitchen, first the room had to be extended out to the right of the property. This involved inserting steel beams into the ceiling to ensure the upstairs remained structurally sound. A pitched roof with three skylights was constructed to join the extension to the existing house. Wooden doors were installed on the left and right side of the garden facing wall. Internally, the ceiling height was adjusted, the wood flooring was laid and the kitchen installed to finish the project.

The original sink and cabinet were replaced with a single unit and mirror placed above.
A new parquet style flooring was fitted and the walls were painted. New white and blue tiles were placed around the bath which was also given new taps and shower unit.

Conservatory replacement and extension

The first stage of this project involved knocking down the existing conservatory on the right side of the house. The next step was to build two new rooms extending from the house on the left and right side. Then the roofs, windows and doors were added to the new extensions. Finally, internal lighting, plastering and rendering the exterior walls were done to finish the project.
