Tip of the day. If you have Shutters or wood/faux venetians and want to cut cleaning down use this stuff, it's amazing. Works on furniture too.😎

Replacement louvres. Replaced the louvres on these vertical blinds today in Fishbourne, no need to buy new rails in most instances as good rails last years .This way you get to save money and waste.

Nice fun job today . Lots of coffee a cheese toastie and putting the world to rights . Remember I don't just do Shutters even though ,as Shutters take a while to fit I do tend to take more pictures of them .However they really suit this old cottage 😀

Tip of the day.

If you are unsure of types of blinds whilst considering a whole house ,order 1 look and live with it then if you are happy do the rest. I've advised this many times ,and as I usually can get blinds in 2 weeks it's not really holding up the job, and it's certainly not more expensive to split the job .If you are going to live with a product for many years you need to get it right .

A little bit about the history of Island Blinds and Shutters. I started in the blinds industry in 1989 for a massive blinds company, you know the one that has a constant 50% sale....I spent over 20 years with them as a franchise for want of a better word and learnt every aspect of blinds ,curtains, Shutters, conservatory blinds and awnings. With this knowledge I set up Island Blinds and Shutters some years ago.

What I learnt in those many years is customers know that sales and discounts are false ,believe me they are . I do not and will not ever have a sale for this reason, my price will beat any competitors sale price ! I also learnt that customers like items made in the UK where possible so almost everything I do with the exception of real wood Shutters comes from the United Kingdom,this is 2 fold 1 people like to buy a product not from China, and 2 I can in most cases supply blinds in 2 weeks and PVC Shutters in 5 weeks all of exceptional quality and price.

I rarely advertise as I let word of mouth, Facebook and my website do their job .One thing I would say is this if you want to know how good a company is read the reviews on Facebook as the people are real and as we all know everyone knows who's who on the island. Unfortunately Google reviews usually used on a website are manufactured ie there's a company locally that if you dig into their reviews you will see lots of family and friends and oddly a fair few not from the island 😉 .My advice is ask around and use Facebook to see honest reviews from real local customers 😀

As a one man band I sell and install, I also answer the phone so I have a vested interest in giving as good a service and advice as I possibly can .

Tier on tier wood Shutters in Newport on a wet Thursday. So many options of light control and privacy with the added benefit of heat retention. I do believe it's the only house in Clarence Road with Shutters at the front. It certainly stands out

Still plenty of time for pre Christmas blinds. Most blinds can be installed in around 2 weeks ,thats the benefit of supplying blinds from the UK.

More UPVC blinds . These are interesting as the window is too wide for 1 blind so we used 3 . The important thing is the tapes are equal and the slats match as otherwise it looks a 🐖 👂.

Another box bay today in Newport. Done properly they look fantastic, done the wrong way look awful. They can transform a house and throw light in whilst adding privacy. These are UPVC with tape in 50mm and made in the UK . I measured these 2 weeks ago and fitted the whole house today .

I do wood and UPVC, there are pros and cons to both ,UPVC worked best here as the customer wanted the tapes to be prominent.

Always nice to receive photos from a happy customer. This one was in Sandown last week. 1 week to the day I returned to install another blind as she was so pleased with these .British made blinds .They look amazing and actually make the room lighter than without.

Something a bit different. Fitted these real wood Shutters in Arreton today . If you look closely you will see they have a weathered look . I think I'm going to be selling more of these .

Beautiful house In Totland. The original thought was Shutters but they are not always the right solution. White wood venetians with white tape give considerably more light and at a fraction of the price and in 2 weeks as they are made in the UK.The customer took the photos dont they look great ?

A pleasure of a job today in Shanklin. The customer wanted privacy, heat retention, heat reflection ,neatness ,adaptability and a matching frame for the windows. Easy it has to be perfect fit top up bottom down honeycomb.

Today's mission was privacy,security and light control. Wood venetians are always a winner but the customer also wanted not only remote controlled rollers but the option of setting times for them to go up or down and the ability to operate them anywhere you have a signal on your device.
