Seems I was a bit snip happy when i went picking for this gorgeous pink, white and blue order yesterday.

Ah well, lovely leftovers for me then! I need something to lift my spirits on this dismal day.

Reason #1836 why i grow flowers - so my lovely friends and family can enjoy them too!
I had a wonder around with some snips last night, looking to see what new things were blooming, to pick a bunch for a school friend who celebrated a big birthday recently. So many things are popping at the moment and it was a real joy.
And of course my lovely Mum got a bunch for her birthday a few weeks ago. 🥰

Ahh sweetpeas!

The flower that is responsible for my love of growing things.
But as a flower for cutting they do my head in! Supporting them is tricky, they flush in a heartbeat and then you spend all summer deadheading them!

But I wouldn't be without them somewhere in my garden (and my house)

Blodau priodas o diwedd mis Mai lan yn Nantwen.

I loved doing this wedding a couple of weeks ago for C&M at the lovely Nantwen venue.

Tiny. Intimate. Gorgeous 🥰

Glebelands Market Garden Ltd has just been restocked with some of these scented beauties.

The last few bunches of the gorgeous double pink foxtrot tulips will be going into tomorrow morning along with some beautiful daffodils and divinely scented narcissi.

Its back to rain today, but the last couple of days have been glorious!

Lots of jobs have been started, including preparing a new bed for more perennials like these gorgeous dicentra (or bleeding hearts) I am moving more and more towards growing perennials for many reasons, such as reducing my compost consumption, and (theoretically) less labour as these brilliant plants are pretty self-sufficient.

The ground has been sheeted since last summer so minimal weeding was needed and the soil will be nice and warm when i pluck up the courage to plant everything out!

The cold frame is full of young plants waiting to be planted out but i am hanging on a bit longer (probably unnecessarily) until it feels like spring is here to stay! 😁

First gift bouquet with contents exclusively from the garden (as opposed to the lovely wholesaler 🙂) out the door today.

This signals the proper start to my cutting season. Hooray - it's been a long old winter! 🥳🥳🥳

Tulip #1 of the season is here a little ahead of her friends so it will be a little while before bunches will be available.

However, i do have bunches of the most beautiful double daffs that will be ready to buy in the next few days.

Mothers Day is a bit earlier this year so i will only have a limited amount of flowers ready for picking sadly.
I do however have gift vouchers available so they can enjoy a beautiful bunch picked exclusively for them later on in the year.

As sad as it is, it does give us an opportunity to have a close up look at these stunning birds. Look at those needle sharp talons!

Now i'm not one for using the C word too early (just to clarify' I mean Christmas) but bundles of dogwood and folliage can be ordered now for Christmas. So if you actually do want to 'dec your halls with boughs of holly' give us a shout!

As annoying as wasps can be how amazing are their nests.
I found this chunk on the path underneath a nest whose occupants have been invading our house all summer.

There are still flowers coming but the cutting garden is looking a bit tired (much like me!) after a strange year weather-wise and there is a BIG list of things to do before being put to bed for the winter, so i will be winding down my year in the next week or two.

I LOVE ranunculus. Such a beautiful spring flower and i'm really looking forward to getting these potted up and growing.

One of my favourite bouquets that i sent out this past spring was choc full of them and i can't wait to see the new varieties i have chosen for next year bloom.

Colour anyone?

A lot of these are bound for tomorrow morning, so swing by, grab a bunch and have a look at all the other goodies they have on offer there.

So by and large my sunflowers have not been hugely successful this year, although they are starting to get their act together.

Although this beast is obviously very happy! It must be getting on for 12ft tall. (4yr old for scale)

Suggestions on how to harvest it on a postcard please!
