We have been made aware of a fraudulent phone call made to one of our patients from the telephone number ‘02038153373’, asking for card details to recieve payment for a delivery.

The scam called had the patients personal details & knew what medication the patient was taking. Fortunately the patient knew this & terminated the call almost instantly. But we are concerned that they may attempt this with other patients and would therefore encourage all of our patients to be vigilant and to definitely not give any card or bank details to anyone who might be in contact over the phone.

The only contact number Malpas Pharmacy has is 01633 858002 and Malpas Brook Pharmacy 01633 855686. But again, we have no delivery charges in place to ever obtain card details.

‼️ Do you or anybody that you know, know this man ⁉️

He was found to be manipulating the cameras at Malpas Brook Pharmacy to make sure whatever he was doing was not to be seen.

A NOTICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS

We are deeply concerned by the damaging and misleading article published by the Daily Mail that included us as one of the ‘100 worst performing pharmacies’ in the UK.

We would like to clarify that we received a ‘Standards not all met’ designation because certain record-keeping procedures were not in place at the pharmacy. This lapse came at the end of the pandemic during which we continued provide an essential medical service to vulnerable people all over Newport.

By no means do we trivialise the importance of record keeping and as such these procedural issues were quickly corrected.

As part of the report, standards were deemed to have been met in all the other aspects of our operations, including staffing, premises, services, and equipment.

We are delighted that the regulator found that the services at Malpas pharmacy are accessible, effectively managed, and safely delivered.

We are very proud of our staff, who the regulator praises for working well as a team and getting involved in improving services.

We would like to thank all of our customers for the outpouring of support in light of this article and we will continue to keep you at the heart of what we do.
