And here’s the video I promised for those of you who can’t visit. Or a taster to tempt you if you maybe can !! ###
Finding paradise for a reactive little boyo 🐶❤️
We have found the best ever place, where the boys cab run around freely, without them or us worrying. Getting this experience for a dog like Milo - (who although incredibly sweet at home where he feels safe, is very reactive outside when we meet other dogs) - is really hard. And they both need to run. So a big thank you you to Bassaleg Dog Walking Field for providing a fantastic service 🐾🐾🐶❤😃
Someone just asked what you might need for the Healing Garden sketchbook course - and this video runs through that. So if you are wondering - have a happy 40 minutes finding out! 😃❤ @followers
And here is a video looking at the sort of things we are using in the mixed media course. Ignore the dates I give, as this was recorded before the first run of the course - all the rest is relevant. I'll hunt out some examples of the things we did too - I loved this course xx @top fans Link below for more info and booking https://www.hilarybshop.co.uk/ourshop/prod_7555156-Mixed-Media-Magic-6-month-course-starts-Monday-10-June-2024-Deposit.html
Hello 😊 It’s very nearly time for the online course, Mixed Media Magic to start (Monday 10 June). This is the introductory video for the course and session 1, just to give you an idea of what it’s all about. Ignore the comment about 6 videos – I hugely underestimated how excited I would get with this one, and as a result the course was massively bigger than I’d planned. There are in fact approx. 50 videos!! Which is why its running over a longer period this time and will stay available a lot longer as well. Loads of wonderful ideas for using in your textile, paper and mixed media artwork. I’ll also post the video for requirements so you can see what we are playing with 😊 I'd love to see you in the group xx So we are running as a 6 month course, which will be looking at how to incorporate some of the wonderful different medias there are available, into your art work. This can be on paper or fabric and will suit textile artists, collage artists and mixed media fans . It will be delivered over a 6 month period. It will consist of 4 videos (approx) delivered twice a month, (8 per month) plus a final 2- 3 hour session in month 6, bringing it all together Session 1: Charcoal and Chalk pastels Session 2: Oil pastels and Neocolour 1 crayons Session 3: Water soluble crayons, pastels, and gelatos Session 4: Water-soluble and water-resistant pencils Session 5: Paint and dyes, dabbers and metallic waxes Session 6: Using them all together in your art The course also includes inclusion in a closed Facebook classroom/group. Where you can share ideas and progress with other students and the tutor. Videos will remain available for 1 year after the end of the course, (a total of 18 months including course time) to allow time to revisit and consolidate what you have learnt. Cost is £40/month - the deposit payment pays for your first month @followers
Hi everyone I’m posting a last free video today for you – and it’s a good one. Some block and stamp printing (and we do have those beach patterns and lots of beach pebbles, plus star fish and sea anemones, as rubber stamps in the shop, just in case you fall in love!) This is then followed by a wonderful clean up of the rollers. It took over an hour and I got an awful lot of gorgeous fabric from it. Ill try and find some images of the piece I went on to make from those. I had my bladder operation on Friday, and it all went very well. It’s a joyous feeling to have those boyos out of my body. I’m now prepping for a colonoscopy on Tuesday – after which, I really hope I will have a full picture. And of course, I will let you know as soon as I know. Meantime, enjoy this video, and do have a look at the courses I’ve put up for the rest of the year. The first one in June starts in just a weeks’ time ### @followers
Hi everyone Healthwise things have got a bit more complex - and It's going to be later in the summer before I am back to full strength I think. So I wanted to tell you a bit about each of the two courses that I have running in June. They are both pre-recorded workhops, so can run even if I'm poorly. First up - this is the introductory video for Still Life: Pots and Flowers - which is a lovely gentle course, and suitable for everyone. The video is worth watching just for the rummage through my fabric stash!! This is the link for the workshop and I've listed more details below. I'd love to see you there ... I'm thinking I might work along and do the course again myself - must be therapeutic!! xx https://www.hilarybshop.co.uk/ourshop/prod_7753696-Still-Life-Flowers-and-Pots-Six-session-workshop-plus-PDF-3-June-2024.html It is a guided workshop, with templates and design ideas provided. You can choose from a selection of different pots, and a choice of daffodils, daisies, tulips or echinacea to fill it. You could of course use a mix of them all! Full instructions will be given at all stages, together with an illustrated PDF, making this suitable for beginners. The PDF inculdes over 20 pages of full size templates for you to use, or more experienced students may wish to go off piste and add their own elements. I’ve taught this workshop to groups with both newbies and very experienced stitchers, and it seems to work for all. I've also taught it twice online - and the reults have been amazing. I will be using a sewing machine, but this piece could easily be hand stitched if that was your preference. Or again – a mix of both The course will be delivered via 13 videos – each between 30 - 90 minutes. These will all be in your workshop group when you join, allowing you to work at any pace that suits you. Also in your group will be a PDF of instructions, and templates. This will be a private Facebook group, where you can ask any questions and share your ideas, exper
Hello everyone - summer seems to have got here - that light and warmth are so life affirming arent they? Next week is action time for me (yay!!). Seeing colorectal consultant tomorrow, which should answer lots of questions, and then operation on Friday moring to get those bad boys out of my bladder. I cant wait ... feels like I've givcen them a home for long enough. The other day I wondered whether cancer is a living thing (it seems like it - its feeds, grows, spreads) - and if so, should I feel some remorse for basically killing it? A bit like when I squash aphids on my plants ... I do feel a sadness to be ending their lives - but I love my plants more. And this is the same - I love me more. And living or not - cancer is a parasite isnt it - so choices have to be made. Strange what you think of when your brain is sort of in limbo!! I'm hoping that after next wek I will have some returning energy, my brain will re-engage, and I'll be able to make onward going plans. On the assumption its all successful (I'm deffo assuming that) - I will definitely be completing the ongoing courses - Healing Garden and Machine Artistry, and working with the mips towards their exhibtions. . But I suspect that might be it for this year at least. So do please have a look at the course I've put up for re-runs in the shop. They are all pre-recorded, so just as good each time they run. And they start with Mixed Media Magic in just a couple of weeks. Its a 6 month course, and loads of fun. I will leave it running for 18 months at least as there's lots to try out and play with. I've got an intro video which I'll post tomorrow to give you an idea what its about. Meanwhile - here's another freebie from 4 years ago. Carrying on working into the journal we were making - have fun ### @followers June 2020 - working into leaf journal
Hi everyone - old Mr sunshine has finally found his chapeau for a day or two - I hope you are all enjoying it!! Ive got another video for you - this time we are lino printing leaves for our journal - a lovely job I also wanted to say thank you again for so many good wishes coming from you all - you probably dont realise how much they mean. All the cards are up and I read them when I need a cheery up. Flowers always make me smile, and just when I was feeling a bit in the doldrums today - a parcel from Sarah Raven arrived. A perfect pick me up and I will be potting up this afternoon. Thank you Its a funny time when you are basically waiting. But it's now less then two weeks to my bladder operation and I'm also seeing the colorectal consultant in just over a week. Both these things will give me more information about how things will be. Knowledge is everything isnt it? So please keep enjoying the videos until I'm back fit and firing on all my cylinders. I've a couple more frrbies for May - and then in June, MIxed Media starts a long overdue re-run. Still Life: Pots and Flowers is also running in June - and then the Language of Flowers in July/August/September. I'll tell you more about them all soon - but now I'm off out into that sunshine ### @followers
HI everyone - hope you are all having a lovely bank holiday weekedn - despite the rain at times!! If you are fed up with getting wet - heres another free video for you from the Covid streams. In this one I think we get started adding stuff to our journal. As always - hope you enjoy it xx @followers
HI everyone ❤ - it's possible that this might be the gelli priting leaves for a journal part 1? - but as it's not labelled (I know - Im just not organised) I'm not sure. But as we only did one journal and one lot of gelli priting for that - I think it probably is. We had part 2 last Wednesday. Plus a bit of screen priting using soluble crayons. No idea how that crept in - but that was the joy of the weekly streams ... I didnt plan them at all !! Hope you enjoy this one too ### @followers
