I’ve made this reel mostly for myself as I’ve been getting a bit frustrated with my progress lately. Around 5.5 months since I injured my knee training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, tearing my MCL (2nd degree) and rupturing my ACL (classed as a complete tear, but I have a few fibres left). I’ve come a long way since that day and not being able to put any weight on my right leg or bend it more than 10 degrees. I wore the full knee brace for 6 weeks. I started my physio 2 days in, gym about 2 weeks after and was back at BJJ after 3 months, at a limited capacity. Thank you to my physios, @mooremovement for excellent strength and conditioning training, and my coaches and training partners at @northshorejiujitsu for accommodating my current limitations! Here’s to the next 5.5 months of improving my strength, mobility and stability even more ⚡️

Knee update - 10 weeks on after tearing my ACL and MCL at BJJ 🌈

Some thoughts on adaptability after my PT session with Moore Movement Fitness today. It’s been 4 weeks since my knee injury. While I can’t run or do BJJ (or even fully bend my knee 😬), I can still move and do some other high intensity exercises to get my heart rate up and make me feel exhausted and spent at the end, which I love 😁 We can wait for ideal, or better, circumstances to start something, but sometimes what we need is to adapt and work with what we have, and still aim to improve at the same time. Don’t put your life on hold until you completely fix that thing. Adapt in the meantime.
