We’re Here to Help!
We're pleased to offer free kids' meals for local families in need during the summer school holidays, while free school meals are paused. We understand that some families might find it hard to provide a substantial meal for their children on some days, and we're here to support you. Simply collect the meal between 5pm and 6pm from our shop.

Our small kids' menu includes:
• Sausages with egg fried rice/chips & peas
• Chicken battered balls with egg fried rice/chips & peas
• Mini veggie spring rolls with egg fried rice/chips & peas
•Chicken fried rice & peas
• Beef fried rice & peas
• Dry stir fry chicken noodles with Chinese veggies

Just drop us a message by 3.30pm on the day you need the meals, and we’ll gladly help—no questions asked! We’re here Tuesday to Sunday, closed on Mondays.

⚠️ Parking at Newquay Station ⚠️
The train station car park is now fully closed until next Tuesday to accommodate buses to and from the BM showground.

If you don't mind walking a little further, we recommend our customers use the parking spaces on the other side of the train station (near the supermarket) if you have an order to collect from the shop. You can also get your grocery shopping done at the same time 😊

⛔️ Road Closure ⛔
Due to the road closures of B3276/Watergate Road and Headland Road during the festival (Wed to Sun) and the heavy traffic around the showground, we are unable to deliver to Headland Road, Watergate Bay, Tregurrian, Trevarrian, St Mawgan, and Mawgan Porth this week. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

🚙 Delivery Service 🚗
With the increasing traffic in and around Newquay, there could be delays with delivery orders in the next few days. As always, our friendly FOH team will advise you on the delivery waiting time, and our superb delivery team will try their hardest to get your order to you as quickly (and safely) as they can!

We appreciate your understanding and patience as always. Our full delivery service will resume on Tuesday 13th August 🙏

📣 Important Update 📣

As of 1st August, the minimum order for free delivery will be £33 (previously £30) due to the rising costs of running our delivery service. Orders below £33 will incur a standard delivery charge.

Free delivery is available for all TR7 addresses, Goldings, Trencreek, Nansledan, and Quintrell Downs.

However, We’re happy to inform you that our 2023/24 menu will remain in use, and we have no plans to increase prices for the rest of 2024.

Hello everyone. Just a reminder that we are CLOSED today for Amber's & Scarlett's dance show 🩰🩰

We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding during the past few days while we closed to send my darling Niko off. He’s now at peace and at his resting place.

I also wish to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our incredible Team Orient. Your hard work, especially over the past few weeks, has been nothing short of amazing. Firstly, thank you all for your understanding and patience while we have been closed over the past week. We greatly appreciate all the heartwarming messages, cards, and flowers. We want to let everyone know that we are as okay as we can be, given the situation.

We are in the process of finalising Niko's funeral arrangements, which will likely take place in mid-July. We will be closed for a few days at that time.

We are also ready to reopen our shop on Wednesday 26th June. Our entire kitchen team has worked alongside Niko for more than six years. Despite Niko's absence, we are confident that we can uphold his legacy and maintain our usual high standards. My dad, Simon, the other backbone of our kitchen team, will also be back in the kitchen to work alongside the team and ensure everything is done to the highest quality.

We look forward to welcoming you back from next Wednesday. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for your continued support.

I just want you all to know that I have read every single one of your messages, and I'm sorry that I haven't replied. Thank you so much for your messages and all the support.

The pain in my heart is still indescribable right now. But knowing Niko was loved by so many of you, and hearing how you remember him from his Tretherras days, as a customer of your business, or even from his proud dad’s smiley face at school run, somehow helps soothe the pain in my heart a little. I'm biased because he’s forever my amazing, kind-hearted husband, but reading that you also thought he was a kind, funny, friendly guy brought some peace to my heart and a rare smile to my face.

Thank you for all your kind words. The days, months, and years ahead of us will be tough, but with your support, I know we will get a little stronger day by day, for Niko.

Niko, you are missed terribly by all of us. But I know you’ll watch over everyone from above and be the guardian angel of our community.

This is the news I never ever wanted to deliver. My husband Niko, the owner and head chef of The Orient, sadly passed away yesterday morning.

We are still trying to process it all, as it happened very suddenly.

He was the love of my life and a devoted father to our young daughters, Amber and Scarlett. Niko had always been caring and protective of our small family. He was a great boss to our young team of staff and the strong pillar, spirit and soul of The Orient. Under his leadership, The Orient has thrived for 15 years, all thanks to Niko's dedication and hard work.

Those who know us personally would know that Niko and I have been together and in love for 20 years. Losing him has turned my world upside down. At this moment, we just need some time and space to figure out how to continue life without him. Therefore, The Orient will be closed until further notice while we mend our broken hearts.

We will do our best to stay brave and strong. If you see me and my daughters around, please don't hesitate to give us a hug or a pat on the back for some much needed encouragement.

I love you so much Niko, my darling husband, my best friend, my soulmate, my rock, my everything. I promise you I will continue to run The Orient and carry on your legacy. We will definitely meet again one day. 🤍🤍
