Love the conversations before classes…
Every time I learn something new…
Today’s most interesting topic - Pilates induced memory/life events comeback!
Have you ever experienced anything like that? Luckily for us we had some therapist in room that cleared that one for us - it is a thing!
Through movement you can unlock memories, feelings, dreams…
I never really thought about it until today, but it does make sense to me. Movement influences your brain. This lady is new to Pilates classes and never done anything like this before and she has experience this overwhelming feeling of past… That got us all intrigued…

There you go another fractionating factor why we need so badly to move… Movements heals!

Sometimes we don’t even know that we were broken until we break!

Can’t wait for next weeks’ classes - we never know what knowledge will come our way, but one thing is sure I will be moving regardless!

When you getting ready for your workout at house - you see all the things that needs to be done and you do them accordingly (of course that stuff were never in your list for that day even) and then you realise that’s it’s too late to do workout. So you skip it because you have to go.

Make time for yourself and stick your guns!

Fun fact - black absorbs. White reflects!

And colour is just beautiful…

Bottom line is, if you have too much fat - loose it! But don’t punish yourself walking around in black!!!

Meet your trainer - Anna

For me, Pilates is not just a form of physical activity but a way to improve quality of my life on many levels. Pilates exercises require concentration and focus, which is relaxing and allows me to unwind. Through Pilates, I have gained better posture and greater awareness of my body, which translates into everyday life.

I started my Pilates journey four years ago, after many years of working out at the gym and building my muscles. I realized I needed something different, to truly understand my body and the entire motor function of my movements. Pilates exercises have changed everything in me, from my way of thinking to my body awareness.

Meet your trainer - Elina

Please to meet you🙏🏻, I tell you about my journey and why I do what I do! It started very long time ago (10 years ago maybe more but not telling😜). University we had to do fitness tests and to your surprise I did fail most of them. Me that had been fairly active all my life. I was thinking that there is something wrong with me!

How can one be fit and unfit at the same time? Well I don’t have all the answers!

True story, so things started to snowball downhill from there injury after injury… Went to physiotherapist who suggested that I need to start stretching… 🙈 so that’s what I did.
I stretched and stretched, anything and anywhere…
Few months passed and I started to think that that’s me (mind me at this time I done very light to no training - fear!) I have to be careful they say and god you listen to them. So I was for few years and then something changed! I was faced with questions - is this is me for rest of the life? I didn’t want that to be it! So that made me start thinking and learning more about our beautiful bodies… and I wanted to understand what could be happening to me….
And still learning….

Then I come across concept that maybe something is missing - mobility….
I tried to stretch muscles and ligaments and they weren’t even in right places🙈… stretching is very effective and I’m not taking it away but soft tissue needs to be in right place to get benefit of it…
So this knowledge shapes me today- I consider myself as mobility coach… To me as my experience shows mobility is the most needed and then rest will come if you keep moving…

Aim is to help people to see that they don’t have to live in pain nor be fearful to move.

The best feeling in the word is to see someone having breakthrough and realising that it’s gonna be okay… Through movement …

There comes the man…

Let’s call this man Mr. X, as I would like to protect his identity.I meet this man X and he says that his body start to fall apart (his words, not mine as I couldn’t really see any physical evidence of this falling apart bit). I did see discomfort in his face even that brief moment when we are standing and talking I know he is in pain most of the time. But I do understand what he meant, as I have had come across few other individuals who have experienced similar situation like this before.

Let’s re-track few years back – when I started to notice difference between elderly people some looked so fresh and walked liked models in their 70 yet others couldn’t walk in 50ies. You say that’s just life some people get lucky, I thought that too, but then I started to see trends across different jobs and even more there is huge difference between people. I refuse to take – it is just the way it is! So, I dig deeper years are going by and I am still no closer to conclusive answer, but I have few ideas that I do tend to test along the way.

One thing is for sure Pilates method is genius! More I do it more I learn and there is still lots to learn and boy I’m excited and privileged to practice this method!

Second of all any movement is good, body is not only designed for movement but it can only function in optimal state when movement is present. This is the reason why that old lady who falls and breaks that hip never gets up. She is frail and probably doesn’t have knowledge under her belt that she needs to move so her blood flow would be efficient and nutrients will get around her body. And again, this is just single case of fall no underlying illness I am talking about, but again I don’t believe that there are many of us without any underlying conditions. Fact!

Thirdly it’s never too late to start!

Lastly – because I want to keep it as an easy read – nobody can save you! You need to do it yourself. Yes, sure there is a help out there but people can only guide you and help you along the way - you will have to do that heavy lifting or as they say take that “something” by the horns (this expression is for motivational purposes only). Hope you feel motivated to start doing something.

Right back to Mr. X. He is in pain says have tried it all. Somehow (must be my accent) I convicted him to come to Mobility class. He says he will come but I don’t hold my breath for many people these days as they know what to do but they hope that somebody else will do this work for them and they simply don’t do the right things to recuperate and don’t turn up for themselves.

He did turn up.


Before he started he was advised considering complicity of his case he needs to stop any movement that is causing any pain, discomfort is okay but not pain. Sometimes it’s hard for beginner to differentiate between pain and discomfort. Its like riding the wave you have to be cute. This is a body that has been through a lot so no extra aggravation needed.

First class – he was not impressed and didn’t like few moves we used in class he wasn’t sure that this class was for him. I done my best but I didn’t have any confidence that he will come back.



He did! Never asked him why he come back, I think I will.



Second class - again not impressed and says that maybe this is not for him as he did find few things he can’t do so what’s the point! I assured him that each class we work moves from different angles so we activate those small supportive muscles that he probably hasn’t used in good few years. He reported that his body didn’t feel any worse pain after first class. I was very happy with this as it means we have stayed in safe range of motion and no future damage done. He wasn’t so impressed. I put this down to lack of knowledge about his body that he is living in for x amount of years (don’t want to give away too much info about but I say this much 50-60 years of age).



He come back - and this 3rd session was game breaker as we went tough different moves he felt that he was able to do something that he hasn’t been able to do in years and this is only after 3 sessions. I think he believed me too. Change in mood - I knew this one – it was a hope and understanding that it is possible to change his predicament.



This is what I love the best about movement and mobility – possibilities are endless we just need to trust the process. I am willing to draw a map for you.



Mr. X is pretty new to this game of movement yet but I am confident that he has many many more happy years ahead full of movement and joy. And that is my end game - painless life with all our default movements till that very last day if we are lucky. And why not?

Is there any movement that gives you this chance? Now that would be telling!

I hope we have more days like this!

Letter to my friend - Me…

Remeber those days we had energy to do whatever we wanted and sing on top of my voice just because we could… Yes but then again back then we didn’t do too much!

Remeber those days where time felt like it’s dragging because we had so many things to do and we just lived for those moments… Yes back then we spent 5 days waiting and waiting for that exciting Saturday night…

Frankly I know past is irrelevant - as you probably already have noticed that your mind has changed past events in your mind hundreds of times and if you haven’t noticed just yet. Tune in!

What if tomorrow never comes?
How would your today look ?

I dont want to get sad nor upset, just a gentle reminder to myself that Tomorrow is not promised to me and you…

Can I get more energy tomorrow by moving today?
Turns out yes!

So I suppose all I really need to remind is no matter how bad or hectic my life might seem - move!
Any way, any where you can…

Is there good moves or bad moves!

Of course there are but that’s a story for another day… First of all we need to move and then we can fine tune everything else…

And yes I would like to take that chance - what if tomorrow comes? Do I want it to be the same as today? Did you know 90% of thoughts are the same day in and day out? What if I only changed one of them…

I didn’t find moves - they find me!
I just love what movement can do!
And if it can serve me well do you think it could serve you too!
