The demolition of the Hogan Stand, Croke Park.
Today's flashback takes us back to 1999, before we even had a digital archive.
We went old school for today and got the photo albums out and scanned this project in so we could share. π π²
Given the time of year, with an incredible hurling final last Sunday, and a mouth watering football final to look forward this week, weβre looking back to 1999 when we had the honour of being awarded the demolition of the Hogan Stand, Croke Park.
With the Cusack Stand looking resplendent having been upgraded on a previous phase, it was now the Hoganβs turn.
Roll in the wrecking ball, a crawler crane and lads in man-riding baskets, with a few hoists, and Liebherr 932s, in the days before we had the high reach the demolition of the Hogan Stand began, to make way for the redevelopment of the new Croke park that we know today.
All of this was completed without touching a blade of grass on the famous Croke Park turf.
Itβs interesting to look back and think about how differently we would approach this job today.
