The image illustrates the *Fudล Dachi* (ไธๅ็ซ), also known as the immovable or rooted stance, a significant posture in traditional karate. This stance is designed to maintain stability and balance while providing a strong foundation for both defense and offense. The wide stance with bent knees ensures that the practitioner remains grounded, preventing displacement during attacks.
In this illustration, the practitioner is shown with both hands positioned for readinessโone extended in a guarding block while the other is chambered at the hip, ready to strike. The slight lean forward adds a dynamic element to the stance, preparing for either countering or advancing movements.
The *Fudล Dachi* is particularly useful in combat as it combines the best elements of stability and mobility, allowing the practitioner to react swiftly while maintaining a solid defense. Itโs a critical stance in many karate forms (kata) and a foundation for mastering advanced techniques.

Each dayโs work ignites the flame of your spirit! ๐ฅ

Once a kata has been learned, it must be practised repeatedly until it can be applied in an emergency, for knowledge of just the sequence of a kata in karate is useless. Gichin Funakoshi
โEveryone's body is different. You must be flexible. Many teachers try to force all their students into the same mold. But there shouldn't be just one standard stance or technique. There are always variations. I want my students to move naturally, in accordance with their bodies.โ โ Master Yasuhiro Konishi.
