Our story

This is the home of the Newton Abbot Trago Model Railway & Model Shop on Facebook. Here you can stay up to date with one of the largest scenic 00 gauge model railways in the UK.

The layout was built in 1988 by a team of eighteen people led by Tony Irving. At an original cost of £100, 000, it took the team twelve months to build. This year in 2018, the layout will be celebrating thirty years of continuously delighting both young and old. A small gallery of pictures of construction of the layout and the early days is on display as part of the celebrations.

The model railway is also included on the Family Fun Park day tickets as unlimited entry.

Day ticket - £4.99 (offers a selection of ten rides and unlimited entry to the slide complex, model railway and Bickington Steam Railway)

Junior ticket - £3.99 (offers a selection of smaller rides and unlimited entry to the slide complex, model railway and Bickington Steam Railway)

Model Shop

Attached to the model railway is a small model shop catering for 00 gauge railway modellers.

We carry most of the main manufacturers, including a large selection of Peco 00 Gauge track, locomotives and rolling stock from Hornby and Bachmann and a small selection of accessories for your layout at home, all at famous Trago prices.

We also carry a small selection of second hand stock and reduced items. Please note that second hand stock is sold as seen due to the wear and tear caused from running continuously on such a large layout.
