Thank you Rachel for your lovely review on Google🫶🏻
This lovely client presented herself with lymphedema to both ankles especially the left ankle where more lymph fluid had gathered.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage was performed to lower legs and ankles. Client was also given diet and exercise advice.
6 sessions of MLD to clear lymph fluid.
Lymphatic fluid, called lymph, is a watery, protein-rich fluid containing white blood cells that help your body fight bacteria and viruses to keep you healthy.
When the lymph flow is slowed or stagnant due to recent surgery, obesity, injury, or illness, the fluid gets stuck and builds up in the body’s tissues. Built-up lymph fluid (lymphedema) can lead to swelling, pain, and stiffness. MLD helps clear built-up lymph and restores the normal flow of the fluid to relieve lymphedema symptoms.
In the UK, lymphatic drainage is usually carried out by a qualified specialist, such as a lymphoedema nurse specialist.
(MLD) is often recommended by surgeons as part of a post-surgery recovery plan in general and cosmetic surgery ideally within the first few days. MLD can help prevent fluid build up and scar tissue formation, and can promote healing. It can also help reduce fibrosis, which is the formation of lumps caused by a build up of stabilising proteins when lymph flow is compromised. Fibrosis can restrict movement and cause a feeling of tightness.
Lymphatic drainage massages are often used to relieve lymphedema following breast cancer surgery. Other conditions that benefit from lymphatic drainage massages are:
🔹 Rheumatoid arthritis: This is ongoing arthritis in your joints causing joint pain, swelling and stiffness.
🔹 Fibromyalgia: This condition causes chronic muscle and joint pain.
🔹 Chronic venous insufficiency: This happens when your leg veins aren’t working effectively, making it hard for your blood to return to your heart from your legs.
🔹 Lipedema: This happens when excess fat accumulates in your lower body, blocking your lymphatic pathway and causing lymphedema.
Look after your back ❤️
Deep tissue massage can be an effective treatment for back pain, including chronic aches and pains, contracted areas, and muscle injuries. A 2014 study found that deep tissue massage can help reduce pain in people with chronic back pain, with effects similar to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Deep tissue massage offers both physical and psychological benefits. Unlike other massage techniques that focus on relaxation, deep tissue massage helps to treat muscle pain and improve stiffness. But it can still help to you unwind mentally, too.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage after general surgery or cosmetic surgery have many benefits including:
• Water retention
MLD can help relieve swelling caused by fluid build-up in the body, also known as lymphedema. MLD stimulates the lymphatic system, which helps promote fluid balance.
• Bowel movements
MLD can help relieve constipation and bloating by stimulating the bowels to move and increasing parasympathetic nerve activity. This can promote relaxation and normal bowel movements. MLD can also help ease digestive discomfort.

Hydrating💧our bodies with water is paramount for several reasons.
Firstly, water is essential for maintaining proper bodily functions such as regulating temperature, aiding digestion, and transporting nutrients and oxygen to cells.
Secondly, staying hydrated helps to flush out toxins and waste products from the body, supporting kidney function and overall detoxification.
Additionally, adequate hydration is crucial for maintaining healthy skin, joints, and muscles. Dehydration can lead to a range of issues including fatigue, headaches, and even cognitive impairment.
Therefore, prioritizing hydration with water is vital for overall health and well-being. 🤍
Good morning all.
I think many relate to this🐌!
Have a great week ☺️
Improve blood circulation in the legs🦵🏻.
Consider the simplest, yet effective exercise for good circulation in the legs:
In a sitting position, press your heels to the floor, lift your toes, then do the opposite. Repeat this movement 20-30 times.
It is suitable for those who suffer from cramps of the calf muscles, and just for the prevention of varicose veins and other pathologies of the legs.

The lymphatic system, or lymphoid system, is our body's 'sewerage system' it’s an organ system in vertebrates that is part of the immune system, and complementary to the circulatory system. It consists of a large network of lymphatic vessels, lymph nodes, lymphoid organs, lymphatic tissue and lymph.
It’s a waste removal system in the body: The lymphatic system removes fluids that leak out of blood vessels to maintain fluid levels in tissues.
The lymphatic system carries waste products like bacteria, viruses, toxins, and abnormal cells away from tissues and back into the bloodstream. The liver and kidneys then remove these waste products from the blood, which are eventually eliminated from the body through urine and stools.
The lymphatic system drains tissues of interstitial fluid (ISF), which contains waste products like cellular debris and toxic molecules. The ISF forms a protein-rich fluid called lymph that circulates through the lymphatic system and back into the bloodstream.

Lymphatic drainage is a gentle massage technique that helps move lymph fluid away from swollen areas and into working lymph vessels. It can help control swelling caused by lymphedema, a condition that occurs when the lymphatic system is disrupted and fluid builds up in the arms and legs. The medical term for swelling is edema.

🐝 HONEY🐝
Most of the honey you find in grocery stores is pasteurized. The high heat kills unwanted yeast, can improve the colour and texture, removes any crystallisation, and extends the shelf life. However, many of the beneficial nutrients are also destroyed in the process.
If you’re interested in trying raw honey, you might consider buying it from a trusted local producer. Here are some health benefits raw honey has to offer:
1. A good source of antioxidants
2. Raw honey nutrition
• Calcium
• magnesium
• manganese
• niacin
• pantothenic acid
• phosphorous
• potassium
• riboflavin
• zinc
In addition, raw honey is a source of varying amounts of amino acids, enzymes, and other beneficial compounds.
3. Antibacterial and antifungal properties
4. Heals wounds
5. Phytonutrient powerhouse
6. Help for digestive issues
7. Soothe a sore throat and cough
8. Brain benefits
