Our work to help reduce food poverty and support training and employment opportunities for those with barriers to work has continued full pace this week:
340 nutritional packed lunches for kids holiday activities
50 family members having a full lunch at Whitley Bay Pizza Co after a session at The
Panto Grazing Boxes for 150 kids and parent/carers attending Aladdin Panto at for North Tyneside Council
3 gallons of chicken and vegetable broth to support WarmSpace at

Great to see our team, especially our Jen, supporting such an amazing cause and community centre!

Had a wonderful message from the Whitley Bay Round Table showing all the amazing work we all did together through such hard times which makes all that we do as a team worth while!! Well done to all involved especially WBRT and FareShare North East and let's hope we can keep doing this great work with the support of much needed partnerships, funding and grants! Thank you everyone!!

In the background we are still working extremely hard to feed the vulnerable and provide much needed meals to those that are struggling and we received 110kg of food from FareShare today. 80kg out to local families via our partners and collaborative community support groups. The rest is being used in our venues to support our not for profit work - here we are making roasted tomato sauce for our enchiladas and kids baguette pizzas all prepared, cooked and served by our Academy graduates and trainees!

Here at RQ Second Bite Bistro we’ve taken some steps this week to help look after our staff in these high temperatures.
We’ve taken our super high temperature Salamander Grill out of action which will help reduce the temperature in the kitchen. The staff will also be taking more frequent water breaks. For our customers that will mean that Full Breakfasts are only available until 11am, and none of our sandwiches will come as a toasted option until the heat wave passes.
