👋🏻 Hello I’m back!

Lots has been going on here, a big one has been spending Christmas and New Year with my family, making memories and watching as my sons imagination runs wild with how Santa got in and why he made such a mess eating his mince pie!!

Unfortunately I’ve been unwell with a chest infection since before Christmas but that’s finally on its way out.

Being a 3rd year student nurse has taken a lot of my time. I’ve had a lot of once since September - biggest ones being research project, placement simulation. Not to mention my next placement being Accident + Emergency at a local hospital with a big trauma centre.

I have managed to see a few clients in between but am back and ready to go!

2. Marketing and oral health do NOT sing from the same hymn sheet

3. £9 for toothpaste is absolute madness…oh and that’s half price!!!!!

4. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THIS MARKETING CAMPAIGN

5. Spend your money on something else….(oh and no mouthwash does not cure gum disease either) 😂🙈

If you want whiter teeth see a dental professional and have it done safely and effectively

Monday reminder of how much product you need to use.

It’s always good for me be reminded of this too, I’m often one to use more that’s needed.
This is not only a waste of products but can also block your pores and cause break outs.

1) 𝑺𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒕𝒚 - always my number one consideration.

Consider:
• is the environment clean and tidy?
• do you get a good ‘feeling?’
• is the practitioner accountable to a professional body (eg. Nursing and Midwifery Council, General Dental Council, General Medical Council)

2) 𝑹𝒊𝒔𝒌𝒔 / 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 - are a definite possibility.

Consider:
• have the risks been explained?
• do you feel confident in the practitioners knowledge?
• does the practitioner know how to handle complications and risks?

3) 𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔

• Any practitioner worth their salt will welcome your questions
• No one knows everything and that’s ok, as long as they’re honest and will find out what you need to know

4) 𝑺𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒔

• Cost is of course a factor but don’t let it be the only deciding factor
• Your face represents you…don’t choose cheap. Choose wisely 🙏🏻
• It’s ok (good) for a practitioner to say no if they don’t think the treatment your asking for isn’t what you need
