Myself and the fabulous Emma from .co.uk are going to be running our for the first time this summer holidays 🌟 HOORAY 🌟
It's something that I've been wanting to do for soooooo long and I'm really excited to get started. We've got lots of fun stuff planned so if it's something you're interested in, headover to our page or DM me for more info 🖌️

Hello! Let us introduce ourselves!
We are Paula on the left, and Emma .co.uk on the right!
Paula is an illustrator and specialises in drawing cool little characters that she then turns in to all sorts of cool stuff from stickers to stuffed dolls!
Emma is a dressmaker and makes all her own clothing, she has made all sorts from dance costumes to wedding dresses!
We are both resident at Burns Street Studios in Northampton and for our open studios event this September we are putting on some kids art club sessions in the summer holidays!

VOLUNTEERING ROLES

Yardley Arts, is a thriving, entreprising community group which has been running art classes, art lectures, events and art exhibitions for over 5 years.
As a not-for-profit organisation, we are looking for volunteers to join us in these roles for a few hours a week:

Building / Facility Manager: to help keep the art centre in good order to support our activities. This includes: managing utilities, dealing with health & safety issues, ensuring risk assessments in order, overseeing upkeep and improvements. Ensuring our computer and Wifi working.

We also welcome anyone who wants to join our team, who has enthusiasm and time to offer.

PART-TIME ADMINISTRATOR (PAID)

Role: a part-time administrator with an interest in the arts to become an essential member of our team

Main role:

Dealing with enquiries from tutors and general public

Managing online bookings, hall hire and workshop bookings

Invoicing and basic record keeping

Data collection from feedback

Predominantly home based but attending regular team meetings in Yardley Hastings

Hours: Flexible - typically 5 - 7hrs/week

Pay: £10ph freelance

Start date 1st April (training takes place in March)

Essential: up-to-date computer and admin skills

Useful: Google drive experience

The first Afternoon Delight of the week and it's another week of chats, interviews and talk from a local event.

Over the weekend, our reporter and presenter John Leivers went to the Burns St Studios open weekend. He spoke to artsists, makers and creators and took part in some of the workshops being held.

You'll hear these interviews across the week. Today, it's the turn of Minnie Teckman Art and Cathy Burnett who ran the Shoetown Shoes workshop.

As it's a Monday, John has a Three From Chart... from 1977. Plus, the first play of John's Tune of the Week - Star walkin' from Lil Nas X.
