We are very proud to announce that The Playhouse is now a NODA award winner! 🏆 We received the award for best programme in our district for our staging of This Happy Breed by Noel Coward. A huge congratulations goes out to our fabulously talented graphic designer Jo Gordon, without whom we would not have our brilliant programmes and posters!

Written and premiered in 1952, 'The deep blue sea' is a powerful account of lives blighted by love - or lack of it. The play opens with the failed su***de of Hester Collyer, who has deserted her husband for the charms of an ex-fighter pilot.

Cast required is as follows (5 men, 3 women):

Hester Collyer - 40 - 50's
Mrs Elton - 40 - 50's
Philip Welch - late 20's - mid 30's
Ann Welch, his wife - late 20's - mid 30's
Mr Miller, a doctor (slight German accent) - 40's - 50's
Sir William Collyer - 40's - 50's
Freddie Page - late 20's - mid 30's
Jackie Jackson (male) - 30's

Ages can be fluid, though ideally, Hester should be a little older than Freddie and both Sir William and Mr Miller should also be older than the Welchs and Jackie.
