Can’t believe it’s the start of the second week in June already, so let’s enjoy every minute of summer, whilst the days are longer and the skies are blue ( hopefully they’re blue !) especially so this weekend, with the village carnival which sets off at 12:30 pm from the Bull's Head, Davenham, up London Rd, onwards to Butchers’ Stile for festivities & fun 🎡🦄🎠

We are excited to join up with Olive Beauty who will have a table outside their shop, (next door but one to us on 473 London rd, ) who are doing hair & face glitter, and then pop along to visit us for lunch, lattes, ice-creams,, lollies & cakes, while youre waiting for the parade to start !

Carnival day is TODAY ! , and we are excited for all the fun of the fair 🎪🎡🎪 so whilst your waiting for the parade, why not pop in to visit us at 473 Hartford Rd., we’d love to chat and say hello to customers new and old. We have re-installed our ice-cream fridge and have a full stock of some of the nations favourites lollies & ice creams 🍦we have a great selection of flavoured iced lattes, luxury hot chocolate, frappes / shakes in vanilla, strawberry & choclate, and some truly delicious cakes, hand decorated cupcakes, as well as fresh sandwiches & toasted subs !

A bit about the fantastic bread we sell… however, to continue selling… we need you to buy … 😝😊

We currently order a minimum order quantity to meet requirements for the bakery, however to avoid waste, we must move to pre-orders only, so unfortunately, this will be our last week of ordering bread for the shelves, we hope you understand our predicament.

From Tuesday 11th June, we will be tweaking our opening hours, and opening from 10-2 Tuesday to Saturday, as most of our trade is brunch and lunch, again, we hope you appreciate the decision we have chosen to make.

As an dependent business, with a small dedicated team, we work hard to meet needs of most of our customers, by providing GF options, a wide variety of sandwich fillings, breads, with fresh meat fillings, ( no plastic packaged meats) fresh pastries, and cakes galore, and in doing this, we are supporting other independent business owners, but we need you to support us, as much as you can. We appreciate times are hard for so many, and we appreciate our customers one and all, but it’s impossible to for independents’ to continue if we don’t have a big enough footfall.

It’s been a terrible weather day, so we’ve been pretty quiet … but… Just made these bloomin’ gorgeous fat pasties, stuffed with Cumberland sausages, beans, D&H tomato sauce & matured cheddar cheese and they are well fit ! So tomorrow Suzy the pasty Dragon 🐲, is making cheese, potato & onion, and cheese & our bacon jam pasties too ! What’s not to like… 😝🐝😋🤤

As a small family run business, we have huge overheads, recently had minimum wage increases for our dedicated but small team, etc., and we haven’t increased our prices since only a tiny increase in January, after almost a year of trading, we appreciate times are hard for so many, and we wish to say a huge thanks to all of our customers, as without you visiting and supporting us, we would struggle to stay open, so any business whether for a coffee, a cake or a sandwich, buying bread or even a pasty, every little bit of business keeps us going, so we can continue to operate. Been a busy one again …. slow cooked chilli con carne 🌶️ a topping for jacket potatoes or tacos, whilst Mr T roasted pork, gammon, beef & chicken, and we then made our new special, ‘Angry Bird chicken 😡🍗 ( treacle, honey, soy sauce marinade ) and also, delish tarts, topped with mozzarella, semi dried tomatoes in olive oil, basil, and our matured balsamic vinegar shallots, drizzled with balsamic glaze…. What’s not to like,…. 😋 unless of course, you don’t fancy a tart 🤪
