Today is the last day of sexual abuse and sexual violence awareness week. Thanks to everyone that has held a 24 hour sponsored silence you are all amazing. So far we have raised over £2000 with some offline donations to be added to the total. This is amazing and can provide 40 counselling sessions.

If we reach £2500 that would be 50 sessions!

Clive our CEO is undertaking #GoSilentforSLT today, he shared (over email) "Today is my #SLTSponsoredSilence, as a survivor myself, I know how long it can take to speak out about abuse. I’m fundraising today, so we can be there, when people feel ready, to listen, support and help people on their journey to heal, re-build and recover. So please if you can donate and support my silence." https://www.justgiving.com/page/cliveiskeepingsilentfor24hours
It’s the final weekend before our supporters take on their 24-hour sponsored silence challenge. Next week, between 5 and 11 February, we’re asking people to take part in a 24-hour sponsored silence. And if you’d like to join them, it’s not too late to sign up. There’s no preparation needed for this charity challenge, other than letting your friends, family and colleagues know that you won’t be able to speak for one whole day. It's thought we speak an average of 7,000 words a day, so we know it won’t be easy. What do you think - could you do it? Tag a friend who you think would find it extremely hard to do. Sign up here https://www.suelamberttrust.org/sponsored-silence/ and discover if you can complete the challenge #GoSilentforSLT
In just 1 weeks’ time, our supporters will start to go silent for 24-hours each, as they take part in #GoSilentforSLT Could you join them? Take part in a sponsored silence and go totally quiet for 24-hours, any day between 5-11 February. It’s a charity challenge that requires little preparation (and no training!) so it is absolutely not too late to join in. The money you raise will enable us to continue delivering free, therapeutic, professional counselling and other support services to our clients and other people living in Norfolk who need us. Sign up here: https://www.suelamberttrust.org/sponsored-silence/

This #ThankfulThursday, we thank NatWest, who have invited us to join them in branch next Friday, December 8th, from 9:30-4:00 to talk to people about what we do and to share how people can get involved. Pop by and see us. We would love to see you there.
Today is #SamaritansAwarenessDay; please know if you need to talk, they are there 24/7. If you or anyone you know has experienced sexual abuse or violence, know we are here to listen and support you. You are not alone.
Did you know we have been supporting people in Norfolk for more than 40 years? Our team listen, care, and give people the space and the professional support they need to begin healing. Whether your experience of sexual abuse or sexual violence happened recently or many years ago, please know that we are here to listen without judgement. While our services are always in demand, and there may be a waiting list for counselling to begin, our professional team can support you in many ways. Please, don't struggle alone. Get in touch.
Did you know that we support 300 people, every week, with individual therapy sessions either in Norwich, Great Yarmouth or delivered online. And there are more people who need us. As we look to increase our capacity, do you know a business or organisation looking to nominate a charity of the year for 2023? Please mention our name. What do we do? We support our clients – people who have experienced sexual abuse, sexual violence and/or domestic abuse – to learn to cope with their trauma and rebuild their lives. Businesses and Organisations can support people to make a difference together through fundraising and donations. Contact [email protected] to discuss getting involved with our charity and showing your support for people who want to heal following abuse. Thank You.

Today’s date is 24/7. At Sue Lambert Trust, we’re supporting #SamaritansAwarenessDay 💚 by reminding you that if you need to talk, @samaritanscharity is there 24/7 for anyone who needs someone to listen. They are there for people, any time of day or night, to reach out to. When we’re not open (as a fairly small charity, we’re open 5 days a week but do not have a 24/7 on-call service) we are very grateful that the Samaritans and their wonderful volunteers are available for people, always at the end of a phone, at the time they need them most. If you or anyone you know needs to talk, in confidence, dial 116 123.
