There are many myths surrounding sunbed tanning that can lead to unsafe practices. It’s essential to debunk these myths and understand the truth about sunbed tanning! It is important to educate yourself and separate fact from fiction in order to safely and effectively achieve your desired tan.
Always remember to follow recommended exposure times, avoid using hot sunbeds and that sunbeds are not the same as natural sunlight and require different precautions, we also explain how controlled tanning on sunbeds is safer than outdoor tanning, when used in moderation.☀️

At , your safety is ALWAYS our top priority. As proud members of the , we are dedicated to continuously improving our services and providing you with the latest information and best practices for safe tanning.
To ensure your well-being while using our sunbeds, please keep the following guidelines in mind. These precautions are crucial for your personal safety and should be followed carefully:
Please DO NOT:
- Use lotions or oils not designed for sunbed use.
We have a list of banned products on posters around the shop. Only use products specifically formulated for sunbed tanning. We sell a range of professional tanning lotions for a variety of skin types and tan goals.
- Use your phone while tanning.
Protect your eyes by wearing goggles and avoiding scrolling on your phone.
- Use a sunbed if you are hungover or dehydrated.
Your body needs to be in a healthy state for safe tanning. Avoid using sunbeds after heavy drinking.
- Use sunbeds after surgery, tattoos, aesthetic treatments, dermal fillers, or waxing.
Give your body adequate time to heal before tanning. Ask your technician for the appropriate downtime to avoid sunbeds after your treatments.
- Use sunbeds if you are on certain antibiotics.
Always check with your GP before using a sunbed while on medication.
- Overheat yourself “for a better tan”.
Intense heat does not enhance tanning and can be dangerous. We have aircon in all our sunbed rooms to keep them cool during your tanning session.
- Sit up too quickly after a long tanning session.
Take your time to avoid dizziness. We always recommend taking a drink in with you to keep hydrated.
- Wear makeup, jewelry, or glasses in our sunbeds.
Remove these items to prevent skin irritation and damage to our sunbed screens.
- Use a tingle cream unless you are an experienced tanner.
These creams are not for the faint hearted and not suitable for fair skin/beginners.
