'I started volunteering for Priscilla Bacon around October 2021. Being local, I knew about Priscilla Bacon and knew people who had used the service. I really appreciated what the charity stood for and when I saw the position advertised online, I decide to apply. I really like the flexible hours it offers and have gained good friends, confidence and even a work daughter!'

Shining the spotlight on Archie! Archie is our youngest volunteer and does photos for our bric-a-brac listings.

'I started volunteering here in February 2023. I live next door to the warehouse and came by to purchase a typewriter. When I came in, I was intrigued by everything that was going on and wanted to volunteer my spare time. I really enjoy all the interesting items that come through here and we have a lot of fun. It's never boring!'

Shining the spotlight on our volunteer Jackie! Jackie is part of our online sales team and takes photos of all of the different products we sell!

'I started volunteering in February 2022. I heard about the job from a friend who is the Physiotherapist at Priscilla Bacon Hospice. I had a very difficult year as my mother had died and due to a sudden onset of a back problem, I was no longer able to continue my previously extremely active life. I felt I needed to do something to feel part of the real world again and not only to make a life for me but a difference for others.

I arrived extremely nervously at the warehouse, I was put at ease immediately and was soon matched to a job photographing for eBay. It was wonderful as my father also had passed away and he was a photographer, as if it was meant to be! The job is interesting and varied, I love it!

From day one I felt made very welcome by everyone, my back issues were addressed and accommodated in the job and it was the best feeling after over a year of isolation that I was making new friends and being part of a fantastic hard-working fund-raising team.

My husband said “it’s been the making of you” as I now feel so much like the real me again and visiting the new hospice site a few weeks ago filled each and every one of the staff and volunteers with pride and a sense of real achievement seeing the bricks and mortar we have helped raise the money for. I also help with other fund-raising events like the open gardens where we sell teas and cakes. Thank you for the wonderful work you all do and thank you Priscilla Bacon team for having me as one of your volunteers.'

Shining the spotlight on our volunteer Pat!

Pat volunteers to help out with our books. This is everything from organizing good stock for our shops from books that are in bad shape and need recycling, as well as finding hidden gems for our eBay shop!

'I started volunteering at Priscilla Bacon in August 2022. I had previously been the manager of a food bank but after I fell ill, I wasn't able to continue on with my position there. I was widowed in May 2022, and needed something to do to preoccupy myself from my grief. I wanted to do something for an equally worthy and valuable cause to the food bank and chose Priscilla Bacon. From this, I've gained occupation and had the chance to enjoy company and conversation which has helped me to not become morose'

Bomb squad called in after live WW1 explosive donated to charity shop The bomb squad was called to Norwich's Priscilla Bacon Hospice after a live First World War explosive was found in a batch of donations.

Welcome to our page where you will find everything relating to our online eBay store. Here we sell high quality clothing, shoes, bric-a-brac etc. You name it, we probably sell it! We stock all of your favourite online and high street retailers as well as designer fashion.

Everything sold on our page has been very kindly donated to us to raise funds for the charity. Not only does buying pre loved items contribute to our charity but it also means doing your bit for the planet. Pre loved clothing is on the rise with 5% of people now buying more second hand fashion compared to what they did 2 years ago.

2022 is a critical year for our campaign to build the £12.5 million 24 bed hospice for Norfolk and Waveney. Already, over £10 million has been raised, but there is still a long way to go. With your support, together we can make this happen.
