Despatch Operative (reporting to Post-Production Manager)

We at Milltech are entering an exciting period of increased demand and substantial growth and to support new production investment.

We are currently looking for a Despatch Operative with a practical aptitude and preferably with some experience of working in a production environment.

Core Tasks

• Receive deliveries of goods and supplies.

• Check for damaged or missing items.

• Store goods and packaging supplies.

• Move stock around by hand, using lifting gear or a forklift truck.

• Pack orders.

• Despatch orders via the computerised systems available.

• Load, and sometimes deliver/ collect, goods.

• Keep records of stock.

• Keep paperwork up to date.

• Clean work areas.

• Ensure that daily maintenance tasks are carried out as required.

• Maintain a high level of housekeeping.

• Adhere to company procedure at all times.

• To support with any other ad-hoc tasks where required.

• To carry out any other reasonable tasks as may be requested from time to time to support the business within the various production areas, manufacturing facilities or elsewhere as may be required.

• To take a responsible and proactive approach to health, safety, and environmental risks in relation to your own role and to control the risks or report them to the management team as appropriate.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Excellent hand-eye coordination.

• Ability to lift 20kg.

• Comfortable working within an ISO 9001 controlled environment.

• Experience of working in a dynamic sub-contract machining environment.

• FLT licence essential

• Full, clean UK driving licence essential

• Communicates honestly, professionally, and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills.

Measurables

1. Attaining expected workload targets to the required quality of finish as specified by the Line Manager.

2. Prompt reporting of QA, EHS hazards/ issues to the Line Manager.

3. Work areas and machinery kept clean and organised.

4. An enthusiastic approach to supporting all areas of manufacturing.
