Funny story about the first time me and met 😆 Whilst on a trip to Stockholm to see our bestie , we messaged Niclas to see if he’d meet us so we could scope out this new man our friend had been seeing (behind her back whilst she was at work😅).
He came to meet us for a coffee and we interrogated him, he took the interrogation so well and we thought yes he’s a good one…. Little did we know he had told Ciara and she turned up at the cafe and went mad at us as it was such early days and we could have ruined her potential relationship…..

The rest is history!!!

🤍 Sandro Botticelli - Birth Of Venus 🤍

This window is quite small in a bathroom with walls painted a very dark colour, therefore I thought I’d lift it up with some gold leaf of course!

This was my first gold leafing experiment and I was very pleased with the results. It adds another element to a plain old windowsill and makes a better feature of this gorgeous sculpture 🤩

Im really getting into guilding on the side of my interior design services. I have just picked up a few bits to guild, if anyone is interested in commissions please contact me 💛

🚿 The En Suite at The Black Barn 🚿

I thought it was very fitting to post the glow up of this shower in the en suite at the black barn as tomorrow I’m going on a house visit to a new client to consult about their bathroom 🛁 🚽 🚿

Bathrooms are my favourite rooms to transform so I’m going to have fun tomorrow 😄

Bathrooms play a very important role in establishing the worth of your home. When purchasing a new home one of the main things the purchaser looks at is the bathrooms so it needs to be the one ☝️

🛌 The Bed 🛌

Its said you spend the most time in your bedroom than any other room in the house so in my eyes it must be the best 🤩

Statement beds have become increasingly more popular, they are the statement piece of the bedroom and usually the decoration of the room then follows from the bed.

I love my bed so much it makes me make it 😂

⚜️Barn Conversion Kitchen Glow Up ⚜️

The old kitchen just needed some new love injected into it 🤩 The best things we did were:

⚜️ up-cycling the kitchen cabinet doors instead of getting all new cabinetry

⚜️Changing the painted wooden worktop for a more hardy quartz worktop from

⚜️Painting the floor with all purpose paint

⚜️Tiling from worktop to ceiling to create a grander look using

⚜️Knocking down the stud wall and having an exposed extractor fan

⚜️Using reclaim and up cycling everywhere possible

Kitchens don’t have to be scary and expensive 😅

🤎 Hallway Goals 🤎

The second I saw this room I knew what it needed! With the double height wall and the curved staircase it just needed a strong feature to showcase all the beautiful elements ❤️

Mirrors are such a great way to create a sense of grandeur, bounce light and give a feeling of a bigger space.

For this project we used and they were one of the best companies I’ve worked with on this project. So accommodating and helpful and nothing was too much.

What are your thoughts on mirrors?

🤍 Bolton Bedroom 🤍

This is the bedroom in the Bolton house.
I absolutely LOVE this bedroom, it is soooo cosy, all the neutral tones and mixes of fabrics and lighting.

Ps. This bed is up for sale if anyone is interested as this house sold yesterday WAHOOOO 🥳

The Dining Room Transformation by SMR Interiors

💛 Project - Main Living Room 💛

When I first saw this living room the potential just hit me in the face 😂🤩

Being a converted barn we still have the original windows which are very small so my plan was to lighten up the room as much as I could.

To save money (a lot of money!!) we decided to paint the floors with multi purpose paint, this made the biggest difference and was so easy! Along with this the thinner beams were made white which opened the room up too.
Along with that the best decorator in the world also wallpapered in between every beam with a hessian look wallpaper from , I wanted to give the room texture without being too fussy.

I chose to up cycle the matching built in units either side of the fireplace using paint and appliqués from (you can see how in my highlights).

Instead of a tv we added a projector behind the main beam and a retractable screen, when it’s up it actually looks like another white beam!

🛏 Beds 🛏

The main focal point of any bedroom is the bed, it is like a piece of art, it has so many purposes so it’s the biggest bedroom decision 💙

I LOVE my bed! I had this on my dream list for years until it finally made it to the barn!
It nearly didn’t as we weren’t sure it would fit under the vaulted ceiling!!!
I would have made it fit either way 😂

📄 My First Mood board 📄

So this was my first attempt at a mood board for my first ever client!!!

The brief was quite simple, I was given the floor plans of the house, measurements and a very rough idea on the style the client wanted. A living area that works and looks for a family but for an adult evening too, no specification on colours and the house would be featuring all new crittall doors.

With a bit of to and fro I came up with this board and my client was so happy with it I couldn’t have been more pleased with her response 🤩🤩🤩🤩
And off the back of that I’ve been booked for 2 further rooms in the house so I’m just so excited right now 😚😚😚

I’m currently experimenting with all different apps and software as I’d like to present the boards in a more realistic room layout kind of way. But slowly slowly 😄
I am so grateful for my client being so understanding and supportive 💁🏽‍♀️
