Stylish upgrade for Kitty

Kitty, a 1972 Alan Buchanan designed cabin style launch was back in the water after some Cox’s TLC involving replacing many rotten areas of woodwork and restyling and repainting the interior.

The worksheet included new floorboards and bulkheads, dashboard and windscreen, making good some age related wear and tear issues, engine and engine box TLC.

Hull and other GRP work involved filling and sanding followed by several coats of varnish, gloss and antifoul.

Engine work and a new canopy frame completed the job list on this pretty little 17ft Seamaster launch.

Priscilla a very pretty lugsail half decker originally built by Hunters in Ludham has been sold and is now on her way to her new home.

Partially restored by the craftsmen at Cox’s Boatyard she will be receiving much TLC to finish the restoration process and get her back sailing. See photo.

Built in the 1930's by Percy Hunter on the mould of the Hunter Fleet's fabled "Woodcut" lugsail half deckers, this classic dayboat is one of only three such boats built by the yard for private owners to this great Percy's inspired design and with impeccable craftsmanship.

A beautiful traditional Broom Commander came into the yard to have some planks removed and replaced.

Built in 1955 this 38’ stunner ‘White Heron’ had new Iroko planks scarfed in, caulked, primed, gloss touched up and antifouled.

'Drakshan', a Sessa Oyster 35 sports cruiser came to Cox’s Boatyard with a somewhat unusual request. Luckily our team had previous experience of similar requests - to remove the radar arch and design and manufacture a custom hinge system to allow the boat under the Broads bridges.

Along with some other custom requests to make this beautiful Italian design more Broads friendly, the team delivered a beautiful polished stainless hinge system that was almost indistinguishable from her original build and could be lowered and raised at will.

Winter Storage/Winterisation

Cox’s Boatyard are well equipped to provide excellent winter storage facilities so please get in touch to discuss your needs.

We can lift your boat out, provide a winterisation service and provide storage space in our compound, or under cover if required.

Our compound is in a sheltered position next to our workshop, where your boat will be well protected from the elements and regularly inspected.

Winterisation and Storage�For many of our customers, we provide a ‘winterisation’ service. We steam clean the boat, drain the cooling system, remove and store the batteries, secure all rigging, and undertake any other necessary tasks before covering the boat with a weatherproof cover for the winter months.

Whether your boat is a luxury cruiser, a small sailing dinghy, or a classic Broads sailing boat, you can be sure that our team have the necessary experience to look after your boat safely for the winter months.

Azure Blue takes to the water.

Azure Blue, the beautiful White Boat (YBOD) has had her new hog, frames and planks and general TLC and is now back in the water for many more seasons.
Although some 90 years old she looks resplendent with her hull back ‘as new’ and a few coats of white gloss to complete the picture.
No need to leave her to take up, she didn’t take on a drop of water!

Narica, a classic 1980s built Bourne 40 came into the yard for some fairly extensive renovation/restoration. With a lengthy worksheet the ‘project’ is progressing nicely, the cabin sides being a major part of the work with forward and aft cabin sides requiring removal of rotten sections and new Iroko sections scarfed in.
When all the woodwork and joinery is completed, the whole of the cabin and roof will undergo significant cosmetic and weatherproofing treatment to ensure she is fit for many more seasons.
