Thread lifts can work for some and be a waste of time for others. Don't do it just because it is being offered. A honest consultation and assessment is required.
The regulations around who can perform thread lift procedures are complicated in England, and this means that you MUST do your due diligence when choosing a practitioner for your treatments 🩺
Currently, regulations state that thread lifts carried out by healthcare professionals must be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), who deem it a surgical procedure.
However, this does NOT apply to non-medics, who can carry out the treatment without regulation. On top of this, there are a number of courses being advertised which offer training that can be carried out in just six hours. And as a result, complications are rising.
If you're thinking about having a thread lift, it's crucial that you do your research and seek an experienced, medical clinician for treatment.
Threads are highly specialised treatments that require significant training. Although they don't involve an operation, they are more complex and invasive than other aesthetic treatments such as Botox and fillers.
You only get one face. Please do your research and ensure you keep it safe.
Find a reputable, medically qualified aesthetic practitioner who will explain exactly what the treatment entails and the potential complications that can occur so you can be confident that it's the right choice for you.
We were saddened to hear the news of closure of national chain of skin clinics. If you are a patient or staff affected by this we can offer to see you. We are one of the very few clinics in this country who have all dermatological lasers and decades of experience of using them in a safe manner.

Dermatology times warns us about risks of counterfeit Botox. The counterfeit products were administered for cosmetic purposes, leading to adverse events, including hospitalizations. Patients who received the counterfeit botulinum toxin reported symptoms such as blurred or double vision, difficulty swallowing, dry mouth, constipation, incontinence, shortness of breath, weakness, and difficulty lifting their head.
Takeaway from this- know who is injecting Who's holding this syringe? Are you licensed? Are you trained? Do you know facial anatomy and potential risks”
At Coltishall clinic Our injectables come from reputable pharmacies, stored and transported in cold chain and we use so much of it that it is always fresh.
The bottom line is yes, the use of botulinum toxin is an aesthetic procedure. But it is a medical procedure with medical consequences and not something to be taken lightly. " Dr Seth Matarasso MD" ref: Dermatology Times

How much for 1 ml of filler ?...
Choosing an injector for fillers based solely on the price comes with many risks. While it may be tempting to opt for a cheaper option, it is essential to prioritise safety, expertise, and quality over cost. The qualifications, experience, and skill of the injector are paramount factors that directly impact the outcome of your treatment.
A skilled and experienced injector understands the intricacies of facial anatomy, assesses your unique features, and can create natural-looking results tailored to your specific needs. They possess the knowledge to determine the appropriate type and amount of filler required for different areas of your face, ensuring a balanced and harmonious outcome.
When considering an injector, it is crucial to research their credentials, qualifications, and reviews from previous patients.
Look for professionals who have undergone proper training, possess certifications, and have a reputable track record. A reputable injector will prioritise your safety, provide thorough consultations, and discuss realistic expectations for your desired results.
Furthermore, high-quality dermal fillers are a significant investment in your appearance. These products undergo rigorous testing and adhere to strict safety standards.
Choosing an injector who uses reputable, FDA-approved fillers ensures that you are receiving top-notch products that have been proven to be safe and effective.
Ultimately, your face deserves the best care and attention. Remember, your face is priceless, and investing in a skilled and reputable injector is an investment in your own well-being and satisfaction.

For many patients, before and after photos are an important part of the decision-making process. They're great for understanding what can be achieved from aesthetic procedures, and whether a treatment is right for you.
But, how do you know if you can trust what you see?
When viewing before and after photos on social media or on a provider’s website, it’s important to do so with an informed eye. Here are a few key things to look out for 👇🏼
- Filters or retouching: Skin should have pores, hair and imperfections. If these are missing, it’s likely a filter has been used. Retouched photos are even harder to spot. Look out for telltale blurring and edges/boundaries that look too smooth.
- Angles: Head positioning in before and afters can make all the difference. A tilted head can worsen/improve the appearance of tear troughs, a double chin, and a jawline.
- Lighting: By manipulating lighting conditions, such as the direction, intensity, and colour of light, it's possible to significantly alter the appearance of an individual's features. For instance, softer lighting can minimize the appearance of wrinkles and blemishes, creating a more flattering and seemingly improved after photo. Conversely, harsh lighting can accentuate imperfections in the before photo, exaggerating the contrast between the two images.
It's also worth noting that there are other important factors to consider when choosing a practitioner, including medical qualifications and experience. So, please do look at the whole picture before making any final decisions.

When it comes to our health, our eyes, our teeth etc., we seek advice from a medical professional qualified in that field of expertise.
So, why do we treat our faces differently when seeking aesthetic treatments?
Aesthetic treatments like botox, fillers and thread lifts are MEDICAL treatments which should only be performed by appropriately trained medical clinicians 🩺
But due to the lack of regulation in aesthetic medicine in the UK, you don't need to be medically trained to offer aesthetic treatment. That means anyone can legally buy filler or Botox and inject others.
So, if you're considering having an aesthetic procedure like Botox or fillers, you need to do your due diligence.
All medical treatments come with risks, but in untrained hands, those risks are significantly higher.
You only get one face. Don’t put it at risk by being injected by someone with little understanding of human anatomy, infection control, and emergency/complication management.
These treatments should be obtained only from doctors or nurses trained to use them in an appropriate healthcare environment rather than a beauty salon.

With 70 fast approaching and eyelids drooping down
Making me just always looking as if I had a frown.
I spent much time just pondering on the difference it could make
If I had blephroplasty or would it be a bad mistake?
I summoned up my courage for an appointment I did ask
Even picking up the phone seemed such a mighty task.
Relief! Yes they could fit me in and soon that day drew near
The one thing left I had to do was overcome my fear.
Off to Coltishall Clinic I went with heart beating rather fast
But never mind, I'd got there. The day had come at last.
Excitement and anxiety were certainly well mixed
But hey, I didn't mind that as my eyelids would be fixed.
What a beautiful poem about eyelid surgery with us here. Thank you to our lovely lady for allowing us to share it here

That was just one week ago.... droopy eyelids no longer there.
I actually look awake now thanks to their awesome care.
I'll be forever grateful for the help that I received
And the amazing final outcome which has
been achieved.
