This cake was made for the lovely Danny to celebrate his 21st. It was made from chocolate fudge cakes filled with chocolate buttercream and covered in chocolate ganache and fondant. Hope you had the best day celebrating with friends and family. 🥂🎂

This is my first attempt at fondant jungle animal cupcakes. Although very fiddly and time consuming, I loved creating these so much. I love the blends of colours and designs. I made these for a lady’s baby shower. The ‘Mummy To Be’ cupcake is based on her sash. I hope you all had a lovely day celebrating. 😊🎂

This cake was made for the recent retirement of the head teacher of a local school.

I was approached and asked to create and design a cake incorporating his beloved bike. So here is the final design. I made this cake from an 8” Vanilla cake filled with buttercream and jam.

This cake was made for a gentleman’s 70th birthday. My brief for the design was that it should include a spitfire and a pilot, preferably with a resemblance to the birthday boy himself. I really enjoyed the challenge of creating this, and here’s what I came up with. All decorations were handcrafted and edible, and created around a 6” 3 layer vanilla sponge filled with buttercream and jam. 😊🎂

Laurie and I would like to thank you all for your support this past year, and wish every one of you all the very best for the year ahead.

Just a little advance notice that we will be taking a break from Saturday 8th and be back in The Bakehouse from Tuesday 17th January. During this time we will be contactable for orders and enquiries, but the ovens will be off and the DottyMobile parked up!

......ALL DONE! After a few very hectic weeks, we are now taking a few days off for our own family Christmas. The ovens in Dotty's Bakehouse are switched off, and the DottyMobile is parked up until after the break. (We will of course still respond to cake inquiries and take cake orders.)

We would like say a huge 'THANK YOU' to all our lovely customers who have continued to support us over the past year. It's been another tough one for all of us - increased ingredient, fuel, and energy costs affect our ability to supply and your ability to buy. So whether you've just 'liked' one of our posts, bought a slice to take away at one of our two cafe outlets - The Artisan Cafe and Watsons - bought a celebration traycake for a special family occasion, or commissioned me to do your wedding cake, we thank you and we really appreciate you.

Without you, our customers, we quite simply wouldn't have a business, and your support has helped us through these continuing challenging times. Laurie and I wish every one of you a very Happy Christmas and all the best for 2023.

I seem never to have enough time for social media at the moment. I have a lot of cakes to put up that I forget who’s came first! But here goes!

This was made for a 16th birthday party with an 80s theme. It was made from a 3 layer, 8” Madeira cake filled with buttercream and jam, and all toppers were edible and hand-painted.

I really enjoyed making this and hope the party went well! 😊🎂

This cake was created for a lovely lady’s Wedding Day. Following a cake consultation, the design and colour scheme was inspired from photos and stories of her husband-to-be’s passion for fishing, and matched in with their table decorations. It was a complete surprise for him when they arrived at the venue. I hope you both had the most amazing day celebrating. 🥂🎂

TODAY, FOR OUR 10TH CROMER CARNIVAL YEAR, as Dotty’s Cakes we are excited once again to be sponsoring the annual Waiters & Waitresses event, on Cromer Pier forecourt this afternoon. Firstly we judge the best of the best dressed waiters and waitresses entries, and then select the final winners from the various heats of the races.

So why not join us to cheer on the many contestants as they race each other along the prom with a tray full of drinks, doing their best not to spill a drop (it’s not happened yet!).

The judges will be myself, Ema Scott Rowlands, and as always my husband Laurie Scott - and joining us this year as a guest judge will be Tim Atkins, owner of the Artisan Cafe at Alby.

It’s great fun for all the family, and can get very messy! So please come along and give us your support from 3:00pm onwards.

Here is another of my recent wedding cakes, made for a lovely couple. I designed the cake around their wedding theme and colours with all edible handcrafted decorations, including models of their two dogs on top. This was challenging enough, but it was also made during our earlier recent heatwave on one of the hottest days of the year! It’s been awhile since my last post - there are just never enough hours in the day!

Here are just some of my Wedding Cakes I’ve made recently. I’m always so honoured (and terrified!) when asked to create a couple’s special cake. I offer a face to face cake consultation, so I get to meet them and ensure I fully understand what they are looking for, as no day is more special than this.

All these cakes were a mixture of a traditional fruit cake, vanilla, choc fudge and lemon drizzle and caramel and crème egg blondies and brownies. 😊🎂

A first birthday cake created for a little girl’s special day. I absolutely loved making this cake, especially the unicorns! Made from a 6” 4 layer Madeira filled with jam and buttercream and covered with fondant. I hope you all had a fabulous day celebrating! 😊🎂 😊🎂

A cake made especially for a lady who loves her afternoon teas….. My brief was for it to be “miniature” with her favourite colours incorporated in the design.

This is what I came up with…. I really enjoyed creating these edible cake toppers, especially the little plate of cakes and sausage roll.
