Who are we?

Cool Code Company was founded in 2008 by Nottingham developer Tony Hearn. He had over 13 years working at various companies in Nottingham, but Tony was looking for a new challenge and to bring his skills and experience to more clients.

Throughout his early career, Tony was building bespoke systems for the companies he worked for. This spread over a range of business systems from contact centre management to fulfilment and beyond. After that, Tony built his expertise in systems for the following projects:

• Inbound and outbound call handling

• Bespoke ecommerce website development

In 2006 Tony was working on the first system as a self-employed developer for MNT in Nottingham. After the success of this project, his project became the Cool Code Company. Over the past 15 years the team has expanded and built many solutions for clients.

Winform applications have been around since the 90s so they can be built using classic Visual Basic, for example VB6. We have the expertise to maintain these legacy applications, alternatively of course we can bring them up to date with the latest technology and provide support moving forward.

We have recently gone live with a locker booking system. The site had to be able to cope with a high amount of traffic and the current site was failing due to poor design.

We knew from experience what the problems with the site would be and we redeveloped the existing backend API in .NET 6 and moved it across to Azure whilst retaining the existing front end website.

The new site now works and handles all traffic demands as required and as a bonus the clients hosting costs are now a fraction of what they were previously paying.

Sometimes developers choose to hide their bad design behind a general "throw more money and power at it" methodology which sometimes works, but ultimately the clients end up paying the price.
