_Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,_

*“When I was taken on my night journey (Miraaj), I passed by people who had metal hooks in their hands and they were clawing/ripping at their faces and chests.*

*I said: Who are these, O Jibra'eel?*

_Jibra'eel said: These are the ones who used to eat the flesh of people (had the evil habit of backbiting) and attacked their honor.”_

_Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud رضي الله عنه reports that Nabi ﷺ said:_

_“The person who has the weight of a mustard seed of pride in his heart, will not enter Jannah._

_Someone said, ‘A man likes his clothing and shoes to be beautiful [i.e. will this be regarded as pride?]._

_Nabi ﷺ said, ‘Allah is certainly beautiful and he loves beauty._ *Pride is disdaining the truth [due to self conceit and arrogance] and contempt for people.”*

*“When a person speaks a lie, the angels move away a distance of one or two miles due to the [stench] that emanates from that [lie].”*

_Sayyiduna Abdullah Ibn Amir رضي الله عنه narrates:_

_My mother called me one day when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was sitting in our house. She said: Come here and I shall give you something._

*The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) asked her: What did you intend to give him?*

_She replied: I intended to give him some dates._

*The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: If you were not to give him anything, a lie would be recorded against you.*

_Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه reports that Nabi ﷺ supplicated:_

*“O Allah, forgive the sins of the haji and forgive the sins of the one for whom the haji seeks forgiveness”*

_Today being the blessed day of Friday, let us:_

1. Recite Surah Kahf.
2. Engage in fervent duaa.
3. Recite abundant durood on Nabi ﷺ.

_Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar رضي الله عنهما reports that Rasulullah ﷺ said the following to a returning Haji:_

*قَبِلَ اللهُ حَجَّك ، وَغَفَرَ ذَنْبَكَ، وَاَخْلَفَ نَفَقَتَكَ*
*‘Qabilallahu hajjaka, wa ghafara dhambaka, wa akhlafa nafaqatak.’*

```Translation: May Allah accept your Haj, may He forgive your sins and may He replace your expenditure.```

_Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar رضي الله عنهما reports that Nabi ﷺ said:_

*“When you meet a haji then greet him, shake hands with him and ask him to seek forgiveness on your behalf before he enters his home, for verily he is forgiven”*

```It is impermissible for one to fast on the 11th, 12th and 13th of Dhul Hijjah.```

_Sayyiduna Nubaisha al-Hudhali رضي الله عنه reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:_

*The days of Tashriq (11th, 12th and 13th of Dhul Hijjah) are the days of eating and drinking.*

_Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Buraidah says that his father رضي الله عنهما said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:_

*(Initially) I had prohibited you from consuming qurbani meat for more then 3 days, (However, now) I give you permission to store the meat and consume for long as you like.*

*Fasting the day of Arafah*

The Messenger صلي الله عليه و سلم said:

*Fasting on the day of Arafah absolves the sins for two years: the previous year and the coming year*”. [Muslim]

The day of Arafah, the 9th of Dhul Hijjah will be tomorrow Saturday 15th June in sha Allah

It is highly recommended and rewardable to fast and make lots of dua on this day inshallah which is one of the best days of the entire year!!

It is the day the people doing hajj stand and make dua to Allah - let’s ensure on this blessed day we use it wisely by fasting which means we are in a state of worship for the entire day.

Please encourage family and friends to do so also in sha Allah.

_Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Al Khudri رضي الله عنهreports that Nabi ﷺ told Fatimah رضي الله عنها ,_ *‘Go to your sacrificial animal and witness it for all your past sins will be forgiven with the first drop of its blood that is spilt.’* _She asked, O Messenger of Allah! Is this [reward] specifically for us the Ahlu Bayt or is it general for all the Muslims?’_ *Nabi ﷺ replied, ‘It is for us as well as all the Muslims,'”*

_Sayyiduna ibnu Abbaas رضي الله عنهما reports that on one occasion, a person had laid his animal down for slaughtering and was sharpening his knife (in view of the animal)._

_Rasulullah ﷺ reprimanded him saying,_

*“Do you want to kill this animal twice? Why did you not sharpen your knife before you lay your animal down to be slaughtered?”*

The annual ceremony of changing the Kiswah of the Ka'bah was traditionally scheduled on the day of Arafah every year. However, in recent years, there has been a change, and it is now scheduled to take place on the 1st of Muharram 1446.
