The Honda Prelude is COMING BACK!! Honda has marked 25 years of hybrid performance with the European debut of the Prelude Concept and confirmation that the production model will return to the region ahead of its first public appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from 11-14 July.
Following the concept model’s reveal at the Japan Mobility Show last year, Prelude is set to deliver the perfect balance of exhilarating driving pleasure and outstanding efficiency – embodying Honda’s long-term commitment to electrification in a stylish and dynamic package.
The original Prelude made its European debut 45 years ago and served as a thrilling, high-performance showcase of Honda’s cutting-edge technology for five generations until 2001. The new model promises to be a fitting return for the renowned nameplate, as it delivers a compelling blend of style and sophistication alongside a hybrid powertrain.
The name “Prelude” refers to an introductory piece of music, and appropriately positions the car as a forerunner to future models that embody Honda’s commitment to sports performance – an example of Honda bringing the “joy of driving” to customers across Europe.
Tomoyuki Yamagami, Chief Engineer and Large Project Leader, Honda Motor, said: “The new Prelude not only marks the latest chapter in our ever evolving hybrid story, it is also the product of 25 years of pioneering hybrid research and development. Ensuring this model maintains its ‘sporty’ DNA by perfectly blending the efficiency and environmental advantages of electrified driving with an exhilarating experience behind the wheel – liberating users from their daily lives with increased driving pleasure.”

Look at what we have 🧐🤤🚗
The Honda Type R 11th generation. If cars were rock stars, the Type R would be that one band from the '90s that refuses to die, keeps reinventing itself, and somehow, every time they step onto the stage, they still manage to set the house on fire.
First off, let’s talk about the looks. The 11th gen Type R has the aesthetic of an angry samurai sword. Sharp, purposeful, and ready to slice through anything that dares to question its authority. Honda has managed to keep the boy-racer spirit alive without making it look like it’s permanently stuck at a Fast and Furious convention. The flared wheel arches, the massive rear wing, and those triple-barrel exhausts—oh, they shout “track day” louder than a Formula 1 car with a megaphone.
Slide inside, and it’s like being embraced by a pair of Recaro seats that feel as if they’ve been moulded from the very essence of speed itself. The steering wheel is a masterpiece, wrapped in Alcantara that feels as good as it looks, and the digital display is so crisp and clear you could probably use it to cut diamonds.
Now, let’s get to the heart of the matter—the engine. Underneath that aggressive bonnet lies a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that churns out 320 horsepower. That's more power than a small island nation, and it’s delivered with the kind of precision you’d expect from a brain surgeon performing a lobotomy. The way it revs, the way it pulls, it’s like a relentless beast that’s been starved for years and has finally been let loose on an unsuspecting herd of wildebeests.
The six-speed manual gearbox is a joy. Honda’s engineers have achieved something miraculous here; the shifts are short, sharp, and satisfyingly mechanical. Each change feels like you're cocking the hammer of a high-performance rifle. And when you get it right, oh, the noise. That glorious symphony of induction roar and exhaust growl is nothing short of automotive perfection.
Handling? It’s as if the Type R is glued to the tarmac with the blood, sweat, and tears of every Honda engineer who’s ever dared to dream. The steering is razor-sharp, the chassis balance is sublime, and the grip, my word, the grip. This car corners as if it’s on rails, laughing in the face of physics and sneering at the concept of understeer.
And yet, despite all this madness, it’s still a Honda. That means it’s practical, reliable, and probably capable of surviving a nuclear apocalypse. The boot is big enough for a weekend’s worth of luggage, the rear seats can actually accommodate human beings, and the infotainment system doesn’t make you want to hurl it out of the window.
