If you don’t have a porch or utility room, where guests can leave their muddy footwear, then a large doormat just inside front door is the answer. Failing that make sure you, when you have your carpets cleaned, you opt for our popular Clean and Protect service.
Dry muddy footprints are much more likely to vacuum clean away from a carpet treated with Repel.

Number 11 in our guide to the Twelve Stains of Christmas, may seem a strange one, however during the party season we receive a lot of calls about make-up spills and stains.
We’re all rushing around and I think it sometimes makes us a little more clumsy than usual – or is that just me?
Make up spills are usually a job for our Chem-Dry Grease and Oil Remover but do take care not to spread the stain and work from the edge of the spill towards the centre.

Depending on the type of icing (or frosting) there is potential for another double dilemma here - grease and dye in the food colouring.
Carefully remove as much of the spilled icing as possible, using a clean palette knife. Then, if the icing is butter based, it’s another job for your can of Chem-Dry Grease and Oil Remover. If not, leave it to dry then run your vacuum cleaner over it until all traces are (hopefully) removed. If there is a stain, it’s time to reach for your can of Chem-Dry Spot Remover.

We receive SO many calls about this over the festive season that, honestly, investing in some good quality battery operated candle effect lights may be wiser!
However, if wax IS spilt on your carpet, soak up as much as you can with kitchen roll, without patting it into the fibres. Christmas candles can create extra tough stains due to the dye in the wax, as well as the wax itself. Proceed with caution!!

A quarter of a century later .....!
Wow, where does the time go!! This month it is a quarter of a century since Mike and Jackie Clark became “Mr & Mrs Chem-Dry” as the proud (and very excited) owners of A&G Chem-Dry. A special anniversary
Despite this difficult time we are all living through just now, we still wanted to mark our very special anniversary - although the cake and celebrations will have to wait a while. In the meantime, here are a few of our memories and highlights from the past 25 years as we look forward to the next 25!!
Jackie remembers ... “So, all those years ago, having seen the miraculous results achieved by the Chem-Dry system, in my former professional life, which completely outshone any other carpet & upholstery cleaning method by miles, I was hooked straight away!
