Part of having ponies is at some point they get sick or aged. This week we have said goodbye to Harry & Pablo.
Both were such a major part of our lives and the Clip Clop Team.
Both with their very individual personalities (especially Harry) those who knew him will know what I’m saying! He was a grumpy old sod but we loved him…my special unicorn 🦄
Both boys now at rest and pain free…
I know these special ponies have brought such happiness to children and adults over the past 10 plus years…Thank you for everything Harry & Pablo 💕🥲🥰

The Donkey's Cross 🙏
I like to share this beautiful tribute to our beloved Donkeys this time of the year. ~ Ariane

The Donkeys were so important to Christ that they are mentioned 444 times in the Bible. The humble Donkey is also the only mammal given speech in the Bible.
One of the reasons I love Donkeys so much: Donkeys accompanied Jesus and the Holy Family throughout Their lives.

*** The Donkey's Cross:

“Bring me the c**t of a Donkey” was the Master's request.
A young Donkey was brought to Jesus to carry Him to Jerusalem.
Five days later He was ordered to be crucified.
The Little Donkey so loved The Lord that he wanted to help Him carry the cross.
But Alas, he was pushed away.
The sad little Donkey waited to say goodbye until nearly all had left.
As he turned to leave, the shadow of the cross fell upon his back and shoulders.
And there it has remained, a tribute to the loyalty and love of the humblest of God's creatures. ***

J'aime partager ce bel hommage à nos Ânes bien-aimés en cette période de l'année.

Les Ânes étaient si importants pour Le Christ qu'ils sont mentionnés 444 fois dans la Bible. L'humble Âne est également le seul mammifère à qui la parole est donnée dans la Bible.
Une des raisons pour lesquelles j'aime tant les Ânes : les ânes ont accompagné Jésus et la Sainte Famille tout au long de leur vie.

*** La Croix de l'Âne :
« Apportez-moi le jeune d'une Ânesse » était la requête du Maître.
Un jeune Âne a été amené à Jésus pour le porter à Jérusalem.
Cinq jours plus t**d, le Maître fut crucifié.
Le petit Âne a tant aimé le Seigneur qu'il a voulu l'aider à porter la croix.
Mais hélas, il a été repoussé.
Le petit Âne triste a attendu pour dire au revoir jusqu'à ce que presque tous soient partis.
Alors qu'il se tournait pour partir, l'ombre de la croix tomba sur son dos et ses épaules.
Et là, il est resté, un hommage à la loyauté et à l'amour de la plus humble des créatures de Dieu. ***

We had a lovely afternoon at a care home in Clifton today. Well done Harry 🦄❤️🥰

Did you know that donkeys are not waterproof?

If you have ever wondered why our donkeys move to our barns over the winter, this is one of the main reasons!

Unlike horses, whose coat produces a grease to help keep them dry in wet weather, donkeys are only able to create minimal levels of grease, which is not enough to keep them dry naturally.

Originating from the hot and dry climates of Africa, donkeys did not need the ability to keep dry, as much as they do in our climate here in the UK. For this reason, it is extremely important for all donkeys to have access to a suitably sized shelter at all times, so that they can take cover when it starts to rain.

Our barns are full of cosy straw to help keep them warm and dry. This particularly helps our older donkeys, who feel the cold more. When the weather is dry, the donkeys enjoy regular exercise and time to stretch their legs in the fresh air on the wood chip pads surrounding the barns.

We are all home safe and sound after a fantastic weekend at The Global Champions Tour in London. Thank you Harry and Nike for being so wonderful and we hope all the children enjoyed meeting you. We were honoured to meet John Whittaker and YouTuber Esme , along with the gorgeous Hercules ridden by Alana Hughes

Shamrock staying cool today at an event in Gamston. It’s too hot for pony rides so the ponies are happy getting a fuss and eating! They have plenty of water and shade too 😊🐴
