Dear AberGreen cricket club members,

It is with mixed emotions that we bid farewell to our dear teammate, Dr. Arfan Ali who has been an integral part of the team for almost two years. Arfan has been an exceptional player, and his contributions to the team have not gone unnoticed. As the MVP of last year, he has helped lead the team to many victories and has been an inspiration to all of us.

As we say goodbye to Arfan, we want him to know that he will be dearly missed. His talent, dedication, and positive attitude have made a significant impact on our team, and his absence will be felt on the field. However, we know that he is embarking on a new journey, and we wish him all the best as he pursues his dreams and endeavors.

Arfan, we want you to know that you will always be a part of the AberGreen cricket club family. We are proud of all that you have achieved during your time with us, and we will continue to follow your progress with great interest. We wish you all the success, happiness, and blessings that life has to offer.

Great news for all the Abergreen CC fans out there! Our team had an excellent start in today's match against Grampian. Grampian set a challenging target of 160 runs in the first innings in 40 overs, but our team never lost hope.

It was a nail-biting match as Abergreen chased the target on the last wicket with just a few balls to spare. But, our player
Asif Yusuf showed great composure and kept his calm to take us over the line.

It was truly an excellent team effort that led us to this victory. We couldn't be more proud of our players and their exceptional performance today. Congratulations to the entire team on this well-deserved win!

On this day of celebration, we want to take a moment to reflect on the values that unite us as a community. Just like the spirit of cricket brings together people from different backgrounds and cultures, Eid is a time for unity, compassion, and kindness.

As we come together to mark the end of Ramadan and the start of a new month, let us remember those who are less fortunate and extend a helping hand to those in need. Let us also take this opportunity to strengthen the bonds of friendship and family, and spread love and goodwill wherever we go.

Changing the name of our cricket club is an effort to move forward and evolve as a team. It's important to embrace change and make positive changes that can benefit the club in the long run.

Siyapa had it annual awards night yesterday.

Awardee's 2022

Most Valuable Player- Arfan Ali
Best Batsman - Malik Hasan
Best Bowler - Arshad Nisaar
Best Fielder - Asif Yousuf

Chairman's award for outstanding contribution:

1. Salman Bedaar for his huge behind the scene contributions for running the club particularly for the Frogbox streaming service, maintaining data at the website and social club activities

2, 3 Both the captains (Umar Ghafoor and Salman Jafri ) for running brilliant campaigns and going over and above the Captain's remit in running of the club particularly for team selection, kits management, and Umar for writing interesting match reports and Salman in contributing towards the social club management

4. Naveed ul husnain - For being a bridge between the teams and smooth running of practice sessions

A very proud night for Siyapa Cricket Club at North East of Scotland Cricket SCIO annual dinner. A very well organized event by the SCIO with some inspirational speeches.

It was a remarkably successful season for Siyapa where they raised a 2nd team, initially just to give everyone a playing opportunity but it exceeded all expectations when Salman Jafri led it to not just to a promotion to the 2nd grade but also winning the Reid Cup in the process AND then also getting voted Winner for the Fair Play award.

Congratulations to all those who led and were involved with the 2nd team.

The 1st's, led by Umar Ghafoor, had their own set of successes . Also picking the promotion to the first grade they narrowly missed the Bon Accord Cup where they were the runners-up. But to make up for the lost Silver, Arfan Ali picked the cup for the best bowler in the Grade!

All in all, a very successful year for the club. Also, very promising to see plenty of new players who have just started and already showing their impact. Hopefully the club can match it's successes next year as well, especially keeping the fair play environment intact.
